Psalm 146: 6-7, 8-9
[poster by andhersaints]
The Lord, an Abundant Helper
1 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, my soul! 2 I will praise the Lord while I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. 3 Do not trust in noblemen, In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation. 4 His spirit departs, he returns to the earth; On that very day his plans perish. 5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, Whose hope is in the Lord his God, 6 Who made heaven and earth, The sea and everything that is in them; Who keeps faith forever; 7 Who executes justice for the oppressed; Who gives food to the hungry. The Lord frees the prisoners.
8 The Lord opens the eyes of those who are blind; The Lord raises up those who are bowed down; The Lord loves the righteous. 9 The Lord watches over strangers; He supports the fatherless and the widow, But He thwarts the way of the wicked. 10 The Lord will reign forever, Your God, Zion, to all generations. Put Not Your Trust in Princes
Psalms 146:3-5
Do not put your trust in princes,
in human beings, who cannot save.
When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;
on that very day their plans come to nothing.
Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the Lord their God.
If you feel anxious over the current results coming in, and find it difficult to empathize with the other side, know they have felt/feel the same way. Rest assured that while presidents will come and go, and eventually even America will fade, Jesus reigns as King over eternity. Psalm 146:
Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD, O my soul!
I will praise the LORD as long as I live;
I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.
Put not your trust in princes,
in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.
When his breath departs, he returns to the earth;
on that very day his plans perish.
Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the LORD his God,
who made heaven and earth,
the sea, and all that is in them,
who keeps faith forever;
who executes justice for the oppressed,
who gives food to the hungry.
The LORD sets the prisoners free;
the LORD opens the eyes of the blind.
The LORD lifts up those who are bowed down;
the LORD loves the righteous.
The LORD watches over the sojourners;
he upholds the widow and the fatherless,
but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.
The LORD will reign forever,
your God, O Zion, to all generations.
Praise the LORD!
The God we serve
He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free, The LORD gives sight to the blind, The LORD lifts up those who are bowed down, The LORD loves the righteous. The LORD watches over the alien and sustains the fatherless and the widow, But he frustrates the ways of the wicked.
The LORD reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations. Praise the LORD.
- Psalm 146:7-10 NIV
Praise the LORD, O My Soul
1 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, my soul! 2 I will praise him as long as I live; I will sing to my God all my life.
3 Don't put your trust in human leaders; no human being can save you. 4 When they die, they return to the dust; on that day all their plans come to an end.
5 Happy are those who have the God of Jacob to help them and who depend on the Lord their God, 6 the Creator of heaven, earth, and sea, and all that is in them. He always keeps his promises; 7 he judges in favor of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry.
The Lord sets prisoners free 8 and gives sight to the blind. He lifts those who have fallen; he loves his righteous people. 9 He protects the strangers who live in our land; he helps widows and orphans, but takes the wicked to their ruin.
10 The Lord is king forever. Your God, O Zion, will reign for all time. — Psalm 146 | Good News Translation (GNT) Good News Translation® (Today’s English Version, Second Edition) © 1992 American Bible Society.
