My Tools

I’d like to share a few of the physical tools that I’ve made or collected over the years. Some of them I made, one as a child, a few before I truly started on this witchcraft path. I will show you two of those at a later date (probably next week). This came about from a random idea I had and the spirits pushing me to share. I ask that you realize a lot of these are tailored to my own practice and might not relate to you or your practice. 

The first tool I will be showing you is a talisman I made to amplify and enhance psychic sight and to help with directing energy during distance healings. I’ve used it a few times during in-person healings and it has worked wonderfully but I usually don’t need much help in person. I made this tool almost 2 years ago, a little bit after my reiki mastership attunement, and though I don’t use it much anymore it is very useful if I need a little extra power or if I’m tired. 

This talisman was made of a piece of tektite my husband randomly picked up and told me to buy in 2016 a month after my attunement. I had it for a few months and it kept sitting unobtrusively till one day it called to me to be used in helping me with a distance reiki healing. After that I decided to make it a tool for that use. I used it for awhile loose almost as a knife but later on I turned it into a talisman I could wear and it has made it more powerful in doing so. 

Tektite is said to bring deeper insights into current situations or problems, enhance and activate psychic abilities, those who consistently carry tektite during their spiritual work may begin to experience a thinning of the veil between dimensions, and it can accelerate healing (source). They are regarded as talismans of luck in many cultures and have been used to accelerate healing from illness and injuries (source). It forms a link between the creative energy and matter. Placed on energy centers it helps to correct the flow of energy. This stone strengthens the bio-magnetic sheath around the body. Certain types of tektites have been used for psychic surgery. (Judy Hall, Crystal Bible) I have found all of these to be true as tapping into energy and seeing and knowing what to do to heal who I’m working on comes a lot quicker and clearer when working with this stone. 

Tektite has a high vibrational energy having either been formed by meteor impact on earth; there is some controversy if it is glass formed on impact or actually  extraterrestrial matter that fell to earth. “Tektites are small pieces of silica-rich (usually 65-80% SiO2) glass found in limited areas in a few regions on the Earth's surface. They are similar in composition and appearance to volcanic glass such as obsidian with colors generally ranging from black to green. Formed under somewhat mysterious conditions that preclude a volcanic (terrestrial) origin, F.E. Suess (who introduced the name tektite in 1900) considered them to be glassy meteorites. However, unlike other meteorite types, tektites have not been seen to fall from the sky. Tektites are found in four major geographic areas and geological and radioactive dating indicates that different geographic groups of tektites have different ages: North American tektites, 33 million years; Czechoslovakian tektites, 15 million years; Ivory Coast (African) tektites, about 1 million years; Indochine tektites from Southeast Asia and Australia, 700,000 years or less. In 1967 microscopic glass spheres similar in composition to tektites were discovered in deep-sea sediments in the Indian Ocean west of Australia and named microtektites. Similar microtektites have been found in deep-sea sediments off the Ivory Coast of Africa. There are two current theories as to the origin of tektites. Both agree that the production of the molten silicate needed to form a tektite is the result of the impact of comets or large meteorites. Tektites are formed when a comet or meteorite collides with the earth - or moon - with such force that melted rock is "splattered" into the upper atmosphere. Here the droplets cool and harden into the shiny glassy shapes we call tektites. Scientists differ about whether tektites were formed from impacts on the Earth or on the Moon! If tektites are extraterrestrial in origin, the moon is the only feasible source, since scientific information implies that tektites were involved in at least a brief extraterrestrial passage. Scientists involved in work on the origin of tektites have been fairly evenly split in their opinions about whether these fascinating rocks are terrestrial or lunar in origin.“ (source)

To make my talisman I did knot magic bound around the piece towards what power and direction I wanted this energy to travel. I specifically wanted to use this as a tool for psychic surgery if needed, it does work great for cutting cords, and for opening my sight more to more vividly “see” things. I cleansed it first with smoke and then sat with meditative music playing while I tied the knots focusing on what I wanted to do, binding the energy into each one.
