The difference between Cover Date and Publication Date.

One of the confusing aspects in comic books is each has two dates. So, to make it simple, the publication date is the date the comic was actually released to stores. The date on the cover was the date the store owners were meant to pull the comic off the shelves to make room for new issues.

Do you have any hopes of TWOW being published before all of us are dead ?

Yes, but I doubt we’ll ever see ADOS.

I know GRRM is “not my bitch”, but I can’t help but being angry at him. When Fire and Blood came out I thought we would see TWOW in 2020. 

I used to defend GRRM for being a slow writer, but it’s been more than ten years now since ADWD and it really sucks so much....

Not trying to pretend otherwise.

I know, writing fanfic is not the same. But I managed to write about 239,000 in the span of less than a year for a novel length fic in a language which is not my own and all the while working as well. And it has foreshadowing, a decent plot and all that (if I say so myself).

And I think that no book is worth that long a wait, not even the best book on the planet. I will read it, that’s for sure, but expectations are so high, that many, many people are bound to be disappointed, probably including me.

IMPORTANT: changing the publication date of your work

This is important if you’ve posted your work early on in the exchange. Once the admins reveal the works and authors, your work will show up in the Bucky/Tony tag as usual, but it will be backdated to the date you originally added it to the challenge collection. That means if, for example, you’ve posted your work on May 8th, your work will be back on the same page with all the other works that have been posted around that date, even though it will only be revealed on June 4th.

That’s unfortunate because it makes it harder for people to find your work. But worry not; there’s a way around it.

To change the publication date of your work, edit your already posted work, and go to Associations. There, you have to check the Set a different publication date box, which will allow you to change the publication date.

On August 1847, Charlotte Brontë received a rejection letter from publishing house Smith, Elder & Co. of London, England about her first novel, The Professor, with the suggestion that “a work in three volumes would [be met] with careful attention.” Charlotte then sent them the 824-page manuscript of Jane Eyre in three volumes, which they published on this day, 6 October, in 1847 under her pen name Currer Bell. *

The earliest surviving copy of Jane Eyre in the author’s beautiful handwriting is held at the British Library, and a facsimile/manuscript book edition was recently published by Les Éditions des Saints Pères (SP Books) featuring the etchings of Edmund Garrett from an 1897 edition of the novel.

Ohhh QoAaD’s publication date has been shifted to an earlier date😱😱😱 And the date of TEC’s the first book has been set too, it’s March 5, 2019!!!!! (Wait I thought TEC was supposed to be out next year😭?!
