“Grr!” A tiny pink orb was currently trying to fend off three larger animals. He made various grunts and growls, all sourced from different animals. The three came closer to the orb, making him panic and lose his tough act.

The first was a brid of prey: A purple owl with black-speckled white feathers on his front. The next was a large omnivore, a brown and white hamster who was sniffing the orb curiously. The last was still in the water: A blue sunfish with large yellow fins and big lips to match.

“Rawr! Rrr, mrow! Mrra, arf!” The orb was trying any angry sounds he could in order to make these three go away. The owl flapped his wings, making to orb topple over.

The bird landed on the orb, settling on top of him as if he was an egg. The young orb was confused. He wasn’t going to be eaten? That was a relief, at least. The hamster and fish(who had hopped out of the water, somehow) both moved closer to inspect the orb.

The three talked to each other in their animal languages, and the young orb did his best to keep up.

“This is baby... We keep.”

“Keep baby? Coo, not ours! We find mom.”

“No animal like this... No mom. We raise. Pick be mom, Rick be dad.”

“Pick? What about Mine? She mom!”

“Neither mom! We all keep. We... uncles?”

“You, me, Kine? Uncles?”

“Hm... yes. We all uncles! Pick and Mine be aunts!”

The orb was being adopted again? And by three different animals, no less! He now had something new... ‘uncles’. He’d picked up that the bird was called Coo, the hamster was named Rick, and the fish was Kine.

As the three squabbled over who would watch him first, the orb yawned happily and fell asleep under the soft feathers of his new uncle Coo.

Someone's probably mentioned this already, but Leeman Kessler managed to resist the thrall of a grand relic, despite the fact that he is a native to the plane where the balance arc takes place.

He rolled with triple disadvantage and got a nat 20 somehow.

Honestly, I’m not sure why Griffin hasn’t addressed that yet, so I’m guessing that will either be addressed by the end of the finale, will never be addressed, or Griffin hadn’t thought about that and he just secretly retconned it at some point.
