This be kind campaign in the UK is making me mad. I guess partly because it's kind of a trigger for me??? Bullies don't do it because they are sad etc (maybe like.. A small percent) They do it because it's fun. They do it because they get 'funny' reactions. They do it because they don't get punished. Bullies need to be punished. Badly. Suspending them from school for a day? That's not a punishment, that's a reward. No one wants to go to school so having a day off is great. Detention? No one goes to that. They literally do not get punished. The most they get is a tap on the wrist, "naughty boy!! That's not nice!! :(" Nothing will happen, so they do it again and again. I've been pushed over, hair pulled, stuff stolen, locked in rooms, followed, had things thrown at me, name-calling, humiliated, had trust betrayed, emotional abuse, mental abuse, tripped up, had rumor spread, a lot of shit. I'm the one who was punished for trying to stop them. I hit one of the bullies one day. I was punished. The boy got off. Nothing happened to him. Bullies need to be punished. HARD. Push them into traffic, it's what they deserve.
