Punk!Chloe AU - The Origin

Little something I wanted to whip up. So, let’s expand on the reason why Chloe went through her style change:

It started a little after Hero’s Day, when Audrey was about to leave to return to New York

Chloe had BEGGED to go with her, as she wanted to spend a bit more time with her

So, Andre cleared it with the school board, and allowed her two weeks to spend with her mother

Chloe would then, in hindsight, realize this was a bad idea

It took a little less than five days for her image of her mother to be shattered

It started with how she treated her employee’s. At first it was business as usual, but it started to make her uncomfortable.

Then it was her treatment towards Chloe herself. She would have expected warmer treatment since it was just the two of them, nut she was often left alone in her apartment or at the occasional outing.

But the final straw was was a new player: Amber, her (apparently) never before seen sister. 

At first, she just seemed to be “Chloe, but nice”, but soon that facade was cracked when she was caught in private

Apparently, years of trying to live up to their mother’s lofty expectations wore her down, until she was just a husk of a girl, doing whatever her mother said

‘Geez, Dupain-Cheng almost had to deal with this. This almost evens out the whole “point out my flaws in front of my mother” thing from a few weeks ago.’

So, she decided (since she can't just go home yet) to go wandering

This proved to be a bad idea on her second day of exploring, when she then was almost mugged

A handful of...uniquely dressed individuals, covered in chains and spikes, came to her rescue

While most of them went to scare the muggers off, a few stayed behind to comfort her

When they returned, they had given her a leather jacket with a phone number in the pocket, should she need/want help

Over the next week, she had either called or visited them, partially out of gratitude, but mostly because of an interest she had formed in their culture and way of life

Once she was about to leave, she had a few things going with her:

A box of (lightly used) hand-me-down punk clothing to get her started

A new lifestyle she wanted to try out

And a list of wrongs, both minor and major, that she wished to atone for

I hope you enjoyed! I wanted to get back to this at some point, and finally found the motivation.

Look, Punk/Sweet and Punk/Sassy Chlonette are the best dynamics. It’s just, instead of making Chloe punk, Marinette gets the leather jackets.

Punk!Chloe AU - Chloe’s Redesign

Something to use as reference (or to allow for fanart)

Chloe has an undercut on her right side. She keeps her hair in a loose braid, excluding when she works out.

She dyes the tips of her hair a different color, depending on her mood (temporary dyes).

She owns several leather jackets, and (based on an idea @fantasyfandommaiden had sent me) had commissioned Marinette to make one with each of the Miraculous hero’s animal symbol on the back

A ladybug shell, black cat face, orange fox tail, bee, and turtle shell

Wears a choker and multiple earrings

Studded fingerless gloves

Wears some punk-based t-shirts, including the Anarchy A, some punk rock band shirts, and one that says “Eat the Bourgeois” (She found that funny on a personal level)

Combat boots and dark pants (occasionally skirts, but there weren’t many she liked)

Everything looks a bit newer than one would expect, but still have a vague grunge look

Do you picture Punk!Chloe getting in a relationship with anyone in class later on? Since she seems to want to focus on bettering herself first

While yes, she is more focused on self improvement than romance, I feel she will eventually end up with someone. This will be once she is comfortable with herself.

My pick would be Marinette, but other option are viable.

I don’t know about you guys, but from now on, I’m completely ignoring canon unless unavoidable.

I’m gonna sit here with Punk Lesbian Disaster!Chloe and pretend Love Eater was just a fever dream from lack of sleep.

Punk!Chloe AU

Let’s do some setup for this AU:

Takes place right after Chameleon

Chloe has gone on a trip with her mother and had missed the episode

The trip went... poorly, to be honest

Really, about two weeks of dealing with Audrey Bourgeois really put things into perspective

So, nothing left but teenage rebellion

She had met up with some American punk kids who helped her out earlier in the trip, and decided to give herself a full makeover

As well, she picked up on some punk ideals, and decided that she had to push her life towards the better

After returning to the class, she made out her mission to make up for all of the horrible things she had done in the past

Though it didn’t come easily, the only ones who where quick to forgive her were Sabrina, Mylène, and Rose

She pushed on regardless, and gave herself a difficult goal:

Making up for all of the things she had done to Marinette

Chloe’s father tries to make Chloe wear a nice, respectable dress for a press conference and she ALMOST does it (bc it’s her dad and this is important) but than hears how it’s part of a plan of his to get her ‘back to normal clothes’ and plans to donate her punk wardrobe once she stops wearing it. She promptly rips up the dress and makes it look more punk for the conference.

Remember that scene from Danny Phantom where Sam cuts up a dress her mother tried to make her wear, then spray painted it black? Yeah, like that.  

At first, she wasn’t concerned with her father, as he left her to her own devices, as per the status quo. But moments like this pushed her into rebelling against him as well. (Remember the ‘Eat the Bourgeois’ shirt?) 

He wasn’t ready for this.

Punk!Chloe biting the bullet and going to Marinette and COMISSIONING some more punk looks for her. Marinette is about to say no but Chloe offers the full amount up front and even goes fabric shopping with her to find the right stuff, tries her hardest not to be a bitch the whole time and Mari takes notice.

For Chloe it’s not quite biting the bullet, as she’s been trying to find a way to make things up to Marinette. This was just the easiest way.

Mari does good work, so it is not a loss.

The issue is that Marinette is - understandably- hesitant to be around her, as years of bullying does that to you. The rest of your ask rings true, as it opens the doorway towards forgiveness (the nice tip definitely helped).
