Sandrone being a huge shoutout to Dead Silence by James is definitely something I didn’t know I wanted??
Dead Silence is a movie I would recommend if you don’t mind horror. If you do mind then please don’t watch. There is gore in it as well.
But the tldr of that movie is about a cursed marionette coming to life. It was made by this lady who would go around cutting the tongues of little kids. Especially of those who made fun of her craft and her creation which was ventriloquism.
Dead Silence is based on an old scary story that was told like folklore designed to spook little kids into not misbehaving.
Sandrone is very much giving me the vibe that she’s the “doll” in the movie. The cursed doll is so hellbent in saying it’s a real boy and it isn’t just a doll and I’m wondering if that will inspire some of Sandrone’s character and how she’s characterized as well since the theory of her being a meka made of Mary-Ann’s likeness will more than likely be true. Tldr about Mary-Ann, she’s an important historical figure in Fontaine’s nation. There’s a memorial park named after her even.
In the movie Dead Silence, even though the cursed doll did have a ventriloquist and always sat upon their lap, the doll was the one always calling the shots. It was never actually a doll being controlled into doing the bidding of another, but the one in charge which funnily enough. Sandrone is also seen sitting upon a Ruin Guard’s arm as if its her ventriloquist when really she’s the one in charge.
Man I just think it’s so cool. So damn excited for her. I’m glad she’s based on a horror folklore.
