i drew my purple hat

There's something about H's purple hat but I can't quite put my finger on it. I feel like it is some sort of signal or has some meaning beyond just being a hat that he REALLY likes. I'm waiting for one of the great sleuths to figure it out.
No, hard same. I was trying to figure it out with @apparentlybychance, but we were hitting dead ends.
The only thing we could find was a Thomas Kemper from Hamburg, Germany, who was with the Methodist Global Ministries. He retired in 2020. In 2014, he issued statements critical of countries enacting laws that target homosexuals. But, as far as I can tell, H only started wearing that hat 2 years ago. And he only started wearing it constantly about 5 or 6 months ago.
The actual company the hat is for doesn't seem to have any sort of connection to him that rings a bell.
Does anyone have any better theories?
