QUESTIONS

1. Do you prefer staying in your pajamas or in your clothes?

Depends. If my pajamas are comfortable ((and I'm not obligated to go anywhere for the day)), then I'll stay in them. But if I'm wearing a particular outfit that I like, I'll want to wear that for the entire day instead.

2. Your favorite video game genre?

Definitely Fantasy RPGs. And the more in-depth the story the better.

3. Last song you listened to?

LEO by TACICA ((been in a Haikyuu mood since we've been rewatching it. XD))

4. Do you play any musical instrument? If not which one would you like to play?

Sad to say no, but if I could it would either be the piano or violin. String instruments have this hauntingly beautiful enchantment to them for me.

5. Is there something you’re proud about yourself?

Creativity. The things that I manage to make even when I'm not trying to make anything in particular always makes me feel proud of what I'm capable of. (^ w ^  )

6. Do you drink a lot of water or a lot of sodas?

Water. I'm not much for soda, except on some occasions.

7. Do you get angry easily?

Sometimes I do. But often times I can get very passionate about things which can be misinterpreted as being angry. XD

8. Do you have a lot of friends? If not would you like to have more friends?

I kind of did, but now not really since we drifted apart. (; ^ ;  ) I wouldn't mind having a lot of friends, but I'm honestly fine with the ones that I still have.

9. Is there something in common among your favorite characters?

It's hilarious because they can range from the sweetest coolest guys to the guys that you aren't sure you'd want to sit next to on a subway. XDDD

10. Do you prefer long hair or short hair?

For me personally or characters? Personally I kinda like medium these days. And for characters/people in general I can go either way. ((lol, sorry if that's being too general since I don't always have exact preferences. (^/////^; )))

11. Have you ever seen a shooting star in the sky?

Once I think when we were trying to catch a meteor shower early in the morning. But now I'm not sure if that was just a plane or something. T w T

*sigh* It doesn't always pay to live in the city  for these types of things.

I've Been Tagged

1. Which fictional creature would you like to become real?

Right now there are two that I'd want to become real. One are Sky Bison [avatar: tla & lok]; They're cute and can fly you practically anywhere.

( ≧ ヮ ≦)~♡  The other are Puffskein. Another ridiculously cute and fluffy creature that are more compact and would be able to get rid of spiders for me. ((Thank god. XD))

2. Are you collecting something? 

At one point the Japanese Re-ment stuff and my manga, but both proved pricey in the long run.

Once I get a job, I hope to continue with them.

3. Cocoa or Coffee?

Mmm~ depends. Cocoa's definitely nice for the autumn and winter time holidays, and coffee I consider a day to day thing.

((At least now that I've gotten the hang of our coffee maker. ^^; )

4. What is your favorite soundtrack?

Honestly I don't have one since I mix and match various tracks from places; ((with the majority of my music originating from anime series and AMVs. XDD))

But I guess the last one that I quite liked was Noragami's OST.

A lot of it was pretty sweet.

5. Do you have an unusual fear you would like to share?

To be honest, I don't think I actually do. (◕ _  ◕)

Although I do have this pet peeve where I have to sit on this cushion that I use when I eat or watch in the dining room/living room.

Since it's basically a "common room" for everybody, people who are visiting will just sit anywhere, and I'm usually iffy about the seat being clean anymore.

Particularly with kids. I highly doubt wherever they've been last was considered hygienic.(꒪ ‸ ꒪|||);

6. A video game that made you cry?

For sure Tales of Legendia [Giet and Grune leaving], Tales of Abyss [Ash's death & Tear's "goodbye" to Luke] and Kingdom Hearts II [Roxas' final days, Axel's "death." Seriously, I thought it was the end for him that time. ; A ; ]

7. What is the first thing you do when you wake up? (going back to sleep does not count!)

I usually wash my face.

8. How old are you and would you like to be younger or older?

27. Though I don't look it according to other people. Mmm~ I don't mind either way, but I guess I'd like to be younger...? Just to do a few things that I felt I should have when I had the chance. ((i.e. learning another language, learning to ride a bike, etc.))

9. What was the last thing that got you really excited? (haha I know I am famous and amazing and the best person in the world, but please don’t put “you tagging me” here”!)

Germany's victory. I knew they could do it. ^^

10. If Aliens would come to earth and set up some sort of trading post or embassy would you be against them settling down on earth or would you embrace the new species and work with them?

So long as we maintain an amicable relationship with most of them, than I don't mind. However...I will go Samurai-Ninja on some of their asses if they try to screw us over in some way.

Are you looking forward to(or have you heard of) next year's series slated for an anime???( ノ✧ヮ✧)ノ [i.e. Seven Deadly Sins, Assassination Classroom, etc.]

Right. Now for mine(Muhuhu)~

1. If money wasn't an object, where's the one place you'd want to go to RIGHT NOW?

2. Can you come up with a made up word XD?

3. Where would you prefer to hang out? A bustling vendor's market in a popular town square? Or a low-key cafe in the sleepy side of an old town?

4. What Studio Ghibli World would you want to be placed in? ((And yes, you have the option of being either human or non-human. ^ w ^ ))

5. Do you have any siblings or nieces and nephews? And do they like some of the things you're interested in?

6. If you could rewind time for just ONE MINUTE for today to do something over, when would that be? And why?

Metamorphosis

Purpleburnout: He says that he likes them [cats] because he can’t understand them.

Me: Kind of ironic because Sebastian is very much like a cat himself.

Purpleburnout: what does that tell you about him?

This was a conversation we had because we were simply musing over how Sebastian has a shameless obsession for cats.

But thinking about it in depth, I can’t help but connect this to a theory that I’ve been developing since we caught up with the series.

It may not be true, and I’m probably looking into this way too much, but I honestly feel like Sebastian may be undergoing his own form of metamorphosis that he himself isn’t aware of.

Although Sebastian has been the only known official demon that we have seen thus far, which makes it difficult to compare this peculiar behavior of his, ((not counting Claude and the others since they were made solely for the anime)) it’s definitely something to keep in mind as the series progresses.

Demons usually only have one objective in life, and that is to tempt humans into giving in to their desires and then consuming their souls afterwards.

But rather than taking it when it looked like a sufficient enough meal for him, Sebastian decided to bind his time for a while in the hopes of cultivating Ciel’s soul when it was perfectly ripen.

At first it all seemed like a mere charade that he was putting up with for the sake of a good meal, and that he really didn’t care much for anything other than maintaining the contract that demons naturally adhere to.

However there have been a few small, unnoticed instances where he’d demonstrated actions that were completely superfluous to his role and contradictory to his nature as a demon.

Examples of such range from completely reinstating Ciel’s estate when he first returned, fixing and retrieving his broken ring after he’d thrown it out the window, baking a cake for him on his birthday ((which sadly he never got to bring to him)), or that time he’d directly disobeyed Ciel’s order during the Weston College Academy Mission, and more recently with how he’s been frantic over his near death/memory loss.

Some may argue that it’s all within the objective of perfecting a worthy harvest by keeping him content, and that it would still fall under the contract of protecting him which would make his supplementary actions inconsequential.

But what would he honestly have to gain from doing half the things he did like fixing the ring or baking a cake as a surprise? It really wouldn’t have mattered if he didn’t do it, so why go through the trouble?

If Ciel were to die or prove inefficient as his prey, he could just move on to another person and cultivate him or her in the same manner; maybe even better. And yet he goes well above his expected obligations for him, even nearly dying when he’d contracted the same disease from the fog.

***Which is interesting, because according to Sebastian, as a demon it shouldn’t affect him like humans.

And there’s also the fact that he doesn’t always follow through with his orders, as proven in the Weston College Academy Arc.

Which in retrospect is an important detail because it was also around that time that Sebastian prioritized Ciel’s life above any orders he may give; an irony since he’s said that his Master’s orders are absolute no matter what.

This is what leads me to the theory of Sebastian’s intriguing change in the story.

He’d once said to Ciel that, “Humans can die so easily from just mere bacteria entering their body.” In a way I compare this example to his unconscious transformation, in that his exposure to humans may be slowly “poisoning” him.

The more time he spends with Ciel and everyone around them, the more he is becoming like them himself. And, though it may also be denied as much as the theory, it could also be said that he’s growing attached to Ciel and his life as a butler.

But being a demon he wouldn’t really understand this, and would deny it profusely if someone told him ((as he proceeds to cut their tongue and gouge out their eyes. ^^; )), which is where the comparison of his love of cats comes in.

Though Sebastian has extensive knowledge on many things since he’s lived for many centuries, including his own kind in a general sense, the truth is I don’t think he knows himself as well as he thinks he does.

Perhaps he’s becoming more of an anomaly like the Undertaker and will one day come to realize his attachments to Ciel to the point he’s willing to sacrifice himself.

Although like I said, this is just a personal theory that I’ve been developing out of mere curiosity of Sebastian’s behavior throughout the series, and doesn’t have to be accepted as a fact.

I just wanted to throw this out in the air because I respect and enjoy this amazing series immensely, and believe that these characters may be far more complex than most realize.

I look forward to Toboso’s progress in this story, and am intrigued to see how she will continue to develop these two as they continue to pursue their goal through their symbiotic relationship as Master and “Servant”.
