I’ve got some unconventional, pulse-pounding audio material in queue for my dear listeners NEXT week. But this week, let’s take the tone down a notch and view life from a shoegaze perspective. I occasionally appreciate mopey music just as much as the next human being because, historically, it has helped me get through intense bouts of grief. I’ve never been the runny-mascara emo type when it comes to my selections for tunes, but I do appreciate a theatrical stab at the subject of being melancholy... especially if it comes with an outstanding voice and intelligent prose. Worm is Green is an Icelandic electro-organic group that combines hypnotic vocals with mesmerizing live and electronic instruments, essentially acting as a chocolate-coated heroine syringe for your auditory cortex. Lead lady singer Gudrídur Ringsted has both the most monochromatic AND mesmerizing voice I have ever heard in my life to this point. Their stylish, dreamy vibe is something you’ll keep coming back for, even decades into your own future if you smash play right now and give them a proper chance. You know how I know this? Because you’re a person, and even you get sad occasionally, or at least generate the occasional tear on a very dusty day. It happens. Next time you’re down, I’d recommend listening to 2005′s Push Play, an album invented by people who started off their audio endeavor with basic software and equipment in a bedroom. It’s an album that will manage to offset your shitty mood with toe-tapping synthesized beats, a positive and contemplative overall message, and a refreshing approach to purging your temporary pain. Even if you don't like this song, You’re Too Late Satan, you will discover a single song by them you can swear by if you dig just a little further into their catalog. Its sad music for people who happen to carry a static charge between at least two brain cells. Turn it all the way up and enjoy!
A video i took on Miriam Bryant, this thursday at her concert🤩
...I need this to be real. Season 1 on Netflix, please.
Such an interesting concept...What if “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” was a drama series...really well done trailer.
Was listening to Zedd with my pad and pen. Wrote down lines that I liked. My writing sucked, I know, pls bear with me.
