Risky Chicken is a Push-You-Cluck (see what I did there?) game for 3-8 players so we had to try this one with some heavy rules modifications and lots of randomness in order to play it with just two players during this pandemic. Even with all of that we could see how much fun this will be when we can play in large groups again.⁣ ⁣ This a fun and cut-throat kids/family game. :-) It is recommended for ages 13 and up but I think that is only because it can get quite mean. I think certain kids much younger can play and enjoy this game. ⁣ ⁣ Risky Chicken has players choosing one other player to try to make it up the mountain with. The higher up the mountain you go the higher your reward. Play stats with players discussing what they will in non-binding agreements. Then each player secretly chooses either their "climb" card or their "chicken out" (which reqired me to make "balk balk" chicken sound every time) card. ⁣ ⁣ If both players agreed to chicken out then they split the reward at their current level of the mountain and their turn is over. If one plays climb and the other chickens out, then the brave player takes the full reward giving none to the other player. ⁣ ⁣ If both players chose to climb then they must roll a die to proceed to next level up the mountain. The higher up the mountain you go the bigger the reward but the more likely you are to both fall and receive no reward. ⁣ ⁣ Player powers dealt out at the beginning of the game make your choices much more interesting so I wouldn't recommend playing this without them even though they are alternative rules.⁣ ⁣ Risky Chicken is a simple game to learn and understand with a fair amount of scheming, backstabbing and luck.
