Lost in a Library
When I went into the library, I didn't know how to read. I certainly didn't know much about books. As my feet went through the doors to the library, I felt nice. Really nice. Just something about the place made me feel like I was at a home away from home.
Despite this feeling of extreme recognition, I was only there to drop off my son. He was a book worm. Sure, he was shy, but I loved him and when he asked for books, I did my best to get them for him.
Now, when I had gone in there this morning, it was a Friday. I was dropping off the kiddo at the library shortly before heading to work. The plan was that I would pick him up for lunch, drop him off again, and pick him up at five, I got off at four forty-five, and the library closed at five. We would head to some restaurant before going home.
When I arrived at five o'clock, I was ecstatic to see him. Work was a draining experience like always and when I went through the doors to search the halls that were as foreign to me as Ancient Greece. When I was searching through the rows and rows of books, I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and a chill run down my spine.
Shortly thereafter, my body tired. I wondered if the lights would turn off. After hours and hours of walking, I was curious to the end of it all and sat crisscrossed. My son was in there. I would find him. With nothing much to do now that I was lost in the labrynth of literature, I took a random book off the shelf and tried to read it. Hilariously, it read, How to Read.
For three whole hours, I walked in a straight line and read the book. By the time I finished it, I had dropped it on the ground and picked out another one. Now I understand why he likes these things. As I did this over and over again for days on end.
When I read fourteen or so books, I had finally found myself somewhere. That being right back where I started. I was finally at the reception desk, waiting there was my son and a small stack of books. He gave me a small smile and almost like I was automated to do so, I reached into my back pocket and took from my wallet a library card.
I swiped it, checked out the books, and we were off. I can't explain it. But it was something strange that walk. When I finally reached the car, it was like I was a different person. A different person in the same place.
P.S
Go read @sociopathethics essays. They deserve the traffic.
Malevolent Ep17 Review
Just the sound of Arthur and the creature walking on the flesh makes me uncomfortable. I don't mean that in a spooky scary kind of way. I mean that in a, "I'm about to hurl" kind of way.
Nothing makes me laugh quite like Arthur interrupting John describing the environment around them and nothing quite puts me in uncertainty like John being terrified of the monster.
I got to take Arthur's side of the argument because I am 100% sure that John has lied to Arthur or withheld info from him.
I do see that Arthur is a lot like Rust Cohle. But he's more like if Rust kept himself before ever losing his child.
Though in a way, I see this episode as the best part of the dreamlands arc. With the symbolism, the character development, and the pacing is finally fixed. Plus, we get to see John be way more vulnerable. 8.9/10
Malevolent Ep5 Review
We need to give Arthur a hunter's license because he could clown on Sam and Dean if he was given his vision back. Dude killed multiple monsters whilst blind, lost control of his left arm, unarmed, and fatigued and in the same night.
Also, I think John is manipulating Arthur in some way, but I don't know why. One thing I love about the series is that Arthur gives off nice guy vibes when he's a bit of an ass to everyone and even kills his partner in cold blood meanwhile John gives off possessive vibes, yet he only acts nice to Arthur and only kills when necessary.
My fav episode thus far. 9.1/10
Malevolent Ep6 Review
I am glad that there was a random dirty gunsmith in this small town. Also, where did Arthur get that kind of money? I googled it and said the series takes place in the 1930's so what kind of detective is walking around with 110 dollars in cash? Also, Arthur knows how to pick locks. He might not be as nice as I thought.
Another thing I like is how John makes Arthur play the piano to calm down. One thing that stood out to me was the fact that Arthur knows poetry and riddles. Dude is a certified nerd. Given, I am too. 8/10
Malevolent x Death Note
I know I haven't finished Malevolent yet but I wod er what would happen if Light was possessed by John instead of Arthur.
King in Yellow Theory
D3rLord3 is Rust Cohle and I can prove it.
1: Both of them are highly intelligent.
2: Both of them interact with the King in Yellow in some form.
3: Cohle was hinted to be chasing the cult of the King in Yellow at the end of season 1 so him meeting his adversary in Minecraft could check out.
The main character goes into the future and sees that they, have their dream job, house, spouse, etc.
When they ask their future self how it went so good, all the future self says back is, "I just stayed me."
