Malevolent Ep15 Review
There is something so haunting about the nightmare Arthur had. Losing a child is a pain that nobody needs to go through.
I'm honestly surprised the entire series is made mostly just by one person. Kudos to Harlan Guthrie.
John being the way he is makes a lot of sense now that I consider he's seen the world burn and grow a thousand times but all he misses of it is the piano.
At 19:48 Arthur loses his slight British accent for sounding like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
I'm pretty sure the creature that Arthur and John fight is a giant electric eel. Terrible stuff but I think that the thing that makes the series safer for Arthur is that he doesn't see the horrors, meanwhile John, a cosmic being who is used to this stuff sees it.
Plus, I called the whole destroying your body so that way possessing spirit doesn't kill everyone! I'm on a roll with this. 8.3/10
For your “perfect” investigative unit, can Arthur just be the guy they keep around as sort of like their weird little feral guy. They send him off to spooky places and then he always just comes back covered in blood.
Sure, he's going to be Chief of Apprehension. He might not know where he's going but when he does it is a good time.
Arcane S1 Review
I think that having the first three episodes being setup is a great idea, but I despise the fact that they had so much build up on Mylo and Claggor just to kill them off. Now, let me just say that the buildup is amazing and it does something with side plots that so many tv shows just simply fail to do. That being they start in one spot, split up, and end at a single point.
The plot is so cool but let me just say they wasted a lot of potential with Silco's character at the end because he is easily the most entertaining character in the series and you can even argue that he was right. As the story is so interesting because it's like if steampunk Pablo Escobar raised a mini-Osama Bin Ladin. If I'm being honest, I didn't care for Ekko and I think that his fight with Jinx is probably the worst in the season. But even though it isn't that flashy, it still is extremely entertaining. 9.4/10
i hate that when you try and look up shit for writing purposes it starts linking suicide hotlines and addiction advice articles like bro i just wanna know the information im not killing myself i promise. now tell me what i wanna know
Legality around certain knowledge is something that I almost have been arrested over and yet I still don't get the answer to my question.
Person A: "This is the worst day of my life."
Person B: "Every day seems to be the worst day of your life."
Person A: "It's gonna get better though."
Person B: "No it isn't."
Person A: "...no it isn't."
This feels like a conversation between two friends who are coming together after a big falling out.

If being a vampire was heriditary in JoJo:
Building the Perfect Investigative Unit
Chief Investigation Officer: L Lawliet
He has experience with weird detectives and is good at working with others.
Chief Criminal Profiler: Will Graham
Is an amazing profiler but if they can simply keep Will from having sex with the crook for long enough, they'll have no problem at all with Will.
Head Interrogator: Rust Cohle
He's never spent more than two minutes in an interrogation room and not even PJ was able to pull that off.
Intelligence Analyst: Patrick Jane
He is amazing at putting things together and works good in basically every other field.
Undercover Operative: Lucas Hood
Who better to pretend to be a crook than a crook?
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Review
I like how the characters are all pretty smart and capable, but they choose to waste their time on the gold. Angel Eyes is probably the most honorable of the three, yet he is a ruthless hitman that only wants money.
Tuco is a neat character because he is a pretty smart person who was only seeing what he did as a way of life, not as some sort of thing that only fit him. He was good at what he did and chose the life of a swindler and bandit instead of that of a holy man. Neat storytelling.
The Man with No Name is interesting for the fact that, we know little about him, but he still has so much. He's empathetic to Tuco when they leave the church and even offered him a cigar even though not to long before he was trying to kill him. He's a swindler and yet, he only swindled towns, not individuals. Interesting stuff.
Now, the way it uses comedy is nothing short of genius. Like how the two get captured by the Union because of how they mistaken them for the Confederacy because the grey dust made their outfit look grey.
But I do think the best part of the movie is the POW camp because it showed how smart the characters really are. The Man with No Name knew that if he ratted Tuco to be Bill Carson, he would be beaten by Angel Eyes, Angel Eyes putting on the show to cover the beating of Tuco is clever, and Tuco even gets his flowers with him not trying the food until Angel Eyes gets a taste. With Tuco ratting the Man with No Name, he ends his suffering but also dooms the Man and Angel Eyes as they will kill one another when they finish business which would leave room for him to get the money. Everyone was clever in this short amount of time, and it shows how much thought went into the movie.
"When you have to shoot, shoot, don't talk" - Tuco
That perfectly sums up Tuco. I love how The Man with No Name pulls the same trick on Tuco that he pulled in the hotel, where he knocks on the door and goes in through the back whilst they look for whoever is there.
The movie uses western tropes and yet, this is mostly just set dressing. This movie could be about three pirates all looking for the same treasure buried by some great pirate before them whilst being hunted by some grander group of naval captains and yet it would still be the same, a good film that is regularly interrupted by a western.
But let me tell you about the three-way duel, The Man with No Name starts moving backwards from Tuco and Angel Eyes because if two people are closer together, than the one further away will win because he will have less time switching between targets. Now, Tuco and the Man with No Name look between one another and through the sheer agreement of faces, they realize that Angel Eyes is the biggest threat, but Angel Eyes sees Tuco, the weakest of the three, looking at the Man and assumes that he is the biggest threat, thus making his decision. Truly a beautiful scene that shows excellence in acting from all three. Plus, Tuco had no bullets, so it was always going to be Angel Eyes. The game was perfectly rigged. 9.5/10
Up in Smoke 1978 Review
This mostly lacked a plot, and the deportation joke has aged poorly as of late but other than that, this was a solid comedy that made me laugh a few times. 6/10
Steel Ball Run V4 Review
Let me just say, the RIngo Roadagain fight is my new favorite fight of the part and I'm glad they didn't just kill of Diego. Araki absolutely could've given DIO more depth.
Hot Pants is a girl and hopefully she becomes a new jobro. Here's hoping. Though you can never tell when someone's stand ability is stealing people's flesh and putting them in a spray can.
I enjoy how Lucy Steele, someone who is basically as simple as a 14-year-old in the 1880's can be, has a spy side plot where she robs DJT. 9.2/10
Malevolent Ep14 Review
One thing that I think about is how Arthur is becoming not only one with John, but he is also physically and mentally changing places with John as he loses any sense of humor and John starts cracking jokes. Another thing that supports my theory of Arthur/John becoming a singular entity/demigod of sorts is the fact that Arthur is burning like 7,000 calories a day in extreme exercise and barely ever eats.
I like how John and Arthur are spending time fixing their relationship and how they have some fun back and forth. Another fall has been added to Arthur's rap sheet.
Those weird robe things without legs are probably the scariest creatures yet without trying. I imagine they look kind of like the Tusken raiders from Star Wars. The way that they scare John but not Arthur is strange in a way that goes beyond crazy spooky monster. 7.2/10
Isn't Parker's dead body still in the closet? I know it's been like two months since but still.
You have freed me, and I am eternally grateful :)
Imma still bother you about Malevolent though.
Until next time, anon.
1000 posts! I dedicate this award to insomnia and the fleeting paranoia I feel at night!
I have so many things I want to say to you but I know you’re just going to respond with one or two words so I restrain myself. I was brainstorming ways I could get you to say something last night as I feel asleep.
I have a one-sided rivalry with you. I’m stuck here as your anon, your only anon, with no real voice of my own, a mere passenger. LET ME OUT!
Okay, I'll play ball. You're going to get an earful of a theory I have about Malevolent.
See, a friend of mine said that I should watch Malevolent (or should I say heard?) because it was similar to True Detective. One thing that I realize now is that Arthur has a distinct hatred for children and parents as he unnecessarily kills a grieving mother and is super rude to a baby.
Now, Arthur has a daughter and because of the fact that he is inspired by Rust Cohle and Arthur has a daughter, it's pretty safe to say that the kid isn't in the land of the living.
So, going down the hoops, I think the story is starting to ask what is going on with Arthur and because of the fact that he barely asks any questions about killing Parker and has serious rage issues, I say that Arthur committed murder in the past. Possibly after losing his child in some way.
There, I release you.
