More of my cosplay fun! Here is my mom cutting the pieces for my merida dress, below I'm turning pvc pipe into a prop bow (i didn't want to make a real pvc bow in case it was prohibited from cons). I'm loving this!

hey guys look what I made today :D
Former international archer Diego Torres and partner Ivan Gomez have been successfully growing archery as a sport in South America thanks to a simple invention: The PVC bow.
Check out how a PVC bow, that cost less than 30 USD, is growing archery in South America.
Jesse is no longer spooking at the arrow flying off! I Mostly just played games with him on the ground to build his confidence. Having him touch the arrow > rewarding > shoot arrow > reward. It seems to have done the trick.
Selling my pvc hand molded Tauriel bow!
No, I'm not giving up my Tauriel costume...I'm getting an upgrade and really have no room for my original bow and would love for it to go to a good home, other than being shoved into an over-filled closet!
The leather grip around the handle has since been replaced to be far more accurate...as these pics are from 2013.
The string CAN NOT be removed due to possible destroying of molded accent features, so the shipping it gonna be most of the price, which I'll have to calculate from where you live on top of the weight and dimensions.
This bow does fire, but I wouldn't push it. And it doesn't fire very good or very far since putting the decorations on. Because of this, it is technically convention friendly. ARROWS AND QUIVER NOT INCLUDED.
Asking: $95 plus calculated shipping (which will probably be $30+, since I've shipped bows before). USA ONLY!
So if you're interested please pm me! I've got some interest in it, but first come first served.
Cosplay Bow Help
Okay, so this question probably flits through every now and again, and it's going to keep coming up. But I need to ask it because I'm going to start working on a project here pretty soon.
I'm making a cosplay bow -- also servicable as an actual bow later on and possibly a LARP bow if I ever get around to joining a group -- out of PVC pipe. It will be 4'6", roughly, and the pipe is 3/4 thick. It will be a Merida bow, a recurve horse bow if I remember correctly from what I saw.
But my problem doesn't lie in making the actual bow but the string. Regular twine is too brittle and a bit rough on the fingers, so that was immediately voted out. Then I thought of elastic but I thought that might snap on me. So would nylon string be the best? Waxed or unwaxed? Anybody know? Please remember that this IS for cosplay purposes at first. I have easy access to other strings for actual archery for later.
PVC Bow Test
Gonna do a thing.
I'm thinking up a thing (pattern layout) for my thing (t-shirt hoodie), but i need to buy things (materials). Yes, it'll be green. It'll also be brown and black(?) Also, perhaps this weekend i'll get my pvc bow (finally). Since bills are up to date.
