THE LATEST ADDITION TO MY COLLECTION...

...the M40 gas mask! I bid sniped this one off of shopgoodwill, hell of a find for a hell of a price.

For those who don't know, this mask was the US gas mask from the 80s until it was replaced by the M50 in the early 00s.

One unique feature, which you can see in the first image below, is its 'second skin.' Long story short, the base material of the facepiece (green) is made of silicone rubber - which is good at a lot of things, but not so good at resisting blister agents. So to keep the mask from being damaged by certain chemicals the wearer may encounter, a butyl rubber second skin (black) is fixed over the mask.

I intend to remove the second skin at some point, as well as take off the lens outserts and reconfigure which side the filter connects to. I'll probably change it all back to normal afterwards, I just want the experience.

Welp, I had another XCOM 2 kick and enjoyed the hell out of that character customizer. Here are but a few Blorbos From My Army, immortalized in sketches. I may boot it back up just to draw some more... there were a lot of designs I was proud of.

Sampo

For those just tuning in, I recently played a Panic! At The Dojo campaign where the DM secretly fed us the plot of Honkai Star Rail (no one in the party had played it). So as a fun art exercise, I've been drawing the NPCs as I envisioned them to compare them to their in-game looks.

Anyway, here's SAMPO! A lovable rogue that neither of us loved very much. For some reason, my fellow player and I did not take well to Sampo. We didn't dislike him, we actually thought he was very funny, but it didn't make sense for either of our characters to be on board with him. We ended up totally not needing his help because of a lucky roll, then accidentally got him arrested, shrugged, and moved on with the plot.

He later became important because of his knowledge of the entrances and exits to the underworld, though I don't think he was too happy to see us...

Zindell's new design is finished........ in 3D!

This is my fellow party member from the campaign where our GM tricked us into playing the HSR storyline. They were created as an experiment to cure mara struck, but escaped the lab to live their own life and become a hero. They ended up joining the express with Archon. In battle they're a shield generating support, protecting us with the very shield generator that keeps the mara struck contained within them. All while jamming to their Walkman.

Cool lance idea for a tabletop I'm in. It can switch into different modes and has a rebounding effect.

Anybody here play Panic! At The Dojo? It's for that :) The DM is letting us each have a new 'item' which grants its own additional stance. So it still uses the mechanics of the game.
