Ngl I don't fully understand how the Q continuum works but I think the idea that even though Q can't die, he can theoretically weaken, theoretically require periods of recouperation, the way immortal jellyfish can revert to their premature state to heal, is cool. I like to think that in a more powerless state he'd have to gather strength again the same way urban legends do -- his strength and his identity would need to be rebuilt by other people's perception. Like a tulpa. I feel like he'd invade people's (more specifically the Enterprise crew's) minds as a recurring thought (not a thought specifically a thought about Q, but some concept that he's responsible for -- a recurring dream, a preoccupation, a new phobia) because the power of someone thinking about him even in that disconnected way is what rebuilds his potency as a being. And then I'd get to write a fic about him essentially just psychoanalysing everyone, which ends with him trying to implant himself in Picard's head, only to realise how preoccupied Picard already is with thoughts of him (all disparaging, mind you, although he is distantly confused (worried, at a push) about why Q hasn't showed up in so long). The only problem with this is I don't gaf about any of the Enterprise crew lmao
