Lithe fingers slid through the man’s dark hair. Slow and explorative, enjoying the feel of the silky locks slipping through her fingers. This was clearly dangerous territory that bordered crossing a line in their strange little friendship. If that’s even what this was. Did either of them really know? Regardless, she’d be lying if she said she’d never wondered about what it would be like to play with Wylan’s hair. It did have quite the inviting air about it. As did the man who’s head it sat on. But these were thoughts that would never leave her pretty red lips.
And Scarlett couldn’t help but notice the more she played with is hair, the more Wylan relaxed. Nearly melting into her sofa with each run of her fingers. He was clearly worn out. And it was on the tip of her tongue to ask him why. But she quickly swallowed the question back, not wanting to ruin the peaceful little moment between them.
“You know....you don’t always have to talk Mr. Green.” While she did know his name now, or at least the name he gave her, she still enjoyed referring to him as their original colorful alias. Her voice was whisper soft and soothing. Leaning over him, dark hair fell over one shoulder, curtaining the rest of the room from them. The strands of blue and black danced over his shoulder and teased his cheek. A little smile danced across her lips. “Sometimes, it’s ok to just rest.” One more run of fingers through his hair before she began to withdraw. “Why don’t I make you some tea and a snack? Or would you prefer coffee?”
Her nails lightly scraped over his scalp as they pulled back. She knew this would most likely be the only time she’d get to do this. Which is why Scarlett was taking her time in pulling away. Little moments. Let him tease her about it later. She’d enjoy it while it lasted.
