Pam Bondi's Qatar connection
While it's not exactly a secret, the connection of Attorney General Pam Bondi to the oil state of Qatar has been underreported. The gift of a $400 million 747 flying palace by Qatar to Donald Trump is a reminder of the Bondi-Qatar relationship.
Trump’s new attorney general pick is a former Qatar lobbyist
In July 2019, Bondi, a partner in the DC office of the powerful lobbying group Ballard Partners, was registered through the firm to influence Capitol Hill on human trafficking issues on behalf of the Gulf state for a fee of $115,000 per month.
She ended her role at Ballard in November 2019 to help defend Trump during his first impeachment trial and later returned to restart her lobbying contracts, according to public documents surfaced by The New York Times’ Ken Vogel.
Yes, she was getting $115,000 per month (NOT year) from Qatar.
That same Pam Bondi, now America's top law enforcement official declared that Trump's $400 million emolument from her former employer was perfectly fine.
From Michael Tomasky at The New Republic:
Which brings us to Swamp Creature Pam Bondi, who approved the gift, calling it “legally permissible.” That’s total nonsense, made worse by the fact that the attorney general once lobbied for Qatar. But why should this surprise us? The New York Times reported Friday that Bondi dumped between $1 million and $5 million worth of shares in Trump’s media company on April 2, the day Trump announced his crazy tariffs (though it’s unknown whether she sold them before the announcement, which could indicate she acted on inside knowledge, or afterward).
The Trump administration IS the swamp. It is bubbling with open corruption saturated with foreign interference.
