For the story, 1 and 39. For Ikki, 10 and 2 (also for Katsuko).
1.) Tell a bit about a main protagonist and a main antagonist? If your story doesn’t really have “good guys and bad guys", tell about two characters with opposing viewpoints! Hmm, let’s see…
Katsuko is the *main* main character, so to speak; she’s an average 13-year-old Japanese-British girl who happens upon the crash site of an alien ship that got blown to several pieces in the impact; in a desperate attempt to communicate with her one of its passengers (Kalli) attaches a device to her wrist that allows them to speak each other’s language. Since Katsuko isn’t very sociable at the best of times and prefers to be alone as much as possible (she has Asperger’s Syndrome; I’m doing my best not to play it as a LAWL AUTISTIC PEOPLE ARE AWKWARD AND AWKWARDNESS IS FUNNY type thing but she does check a number of the boxes associated with it), she isn’t happy at the prospect of playing “tour guide" to the aliens since she’s the only human they can understand, but still agrees to help them stay hidden on Earth and find the pieces of their ship since one of them contains the equipment needed to remove the device… that’s about the simplest terms I can describe the set-up of the story in anyway.
The antagonist… I’m sorta conflicted about how much about them I should reveal since I want their reveal in the story to be OMG DRAMATIC, but luckily there are a number of things about them I need to flesh out so I can be very broad/vague anyway. Their goal is to find the Mac Guffin that powers the ship to use it for their own ends, and Katsuko and the aliens must either beat them to the pieces or fight/outsmart them to get them first. The tropes involved in this story are a bit magical girl-ish when you get down to it ;)
39.) Do you think it is more or less difficult to obey real world laws within a story? VERY difficult because I admittedly don’t know much about the real world D:
10.) Is there anything you can talk about from Ikki’s childhood or younger years that was significant to his development? Befriending someone outside his family/species (Jull) was considered pretty unusual on his home planet; not so much because of the difference in species but because they don’t really *do* interpersonal relationships purely for pleasure the way humans do (it happens often enough that no-one stages an intervention or anything, but it’s not really “the done thing"). I still need to flesh out the aliens’ pasts (and come up with names for their planet and respective species, for one…) but I do know that Ikki and Jull have been friends for a while before going to Earth.
2.) Do Katsuko or Ikki have any siblings? The former, definitely not; the latter PROBABLY not. Again, I need to flesh out details of their species like how many young they produce at once, but I’m *pretty* sure it’s only one at a time in the case of Ikki’s species.
