if regal and desire were real, regal would be running for his local school board and desire would be the cartoonishly evil operator of his campaign's facebook page. she is selling regal for board of education t-shirts for $35. her blocklist grows every day. she blocks #haters in the comment section and then makes ten posts pissing on them back-to-back at 2 a.m. occasionally her tirades will be interrupted by an inspirational quote edited on top of a wildflower field. she has an email list of all the major republicans in the city and they've all agreed to bullet vote for regal. if you roll down your window at a busy intersection you might see desire in her chunky sunglasses + pilates clothes ripping the incumbents' signs out of the ground and flinging them into traffic

Looking at Fitz's dislike for Rosemary, I can remember feeling instant sympathy for her, but also, it makes me think of another au. And I swear I will shut up about different AUs eventually, but what if it was queen Desire who saw the potential of usefulness in Fitz instead of Shrewd?

Like what if when she was on her whole "we should kill the bastard!!" campaign and then stopped midway and was like..Hold on...We should USE the bastard. I mean, it's clear that King Shrewd is pretty leniant with both Regal and Desire (I think it's because he underestimates them greatly, but also because there isn't much he can do sometimes)

and I know my girl was a manipulator to her core. What could he really do if she decides to take in Fitz instead? And be in charge of his education? Earn his loyalty (which wouldn't haven taken much) before Shrewd could? Fitz would be a catalyst in a completely different way. Probs for the worst. I feel like things would take a really dark turn.

I would write the fanfic but I'm too much of a coward lol. And I like to see Fitz happy

It was astonishingly quiet all around: Desire could hear only the droning of stupefied insects and her own explosive breathing. She could no longer press her chest to the ground as she had when she was a girl. She had to move on all fours, dragging the stone of her belly behind her. Sometimes something inside her twisted like wrung-out laundry, but Desire paid it no mind. She had no intention of giving birth today, whatever nonsense the idiot assigned to her might babble. She wanted to keep Regal inside her longer. With him beneath her heart, she felt power. It was a pleasant heaviness: like the weight of a crown, only better. She felt like a god. Something alive inside her. Something alive feeding on her. Something alive depending on her.

Desire did not know what she had taken. She was certain she had eaten a biscuit with carris that morning, but the world around her seemed slow and soft, as if she were drifting underwater. She must have mixed up the little bowls. Or that idiot had rearranged them again.

The heavier Desire's belly grew, the more she missed home. She had taken carris to feel young again. With whatever she had swallowed by mistake instead of it, that was not so easy.

Desire closed her eyes. In the distance, she fancied she heard the quiet lapping of water. How she hated the sea... No, no, she is fourteen, and she has run away from the castle again to her favorite spot by the Vin River. Hidden in the grass, Desire creeps toward the forest. The hem of her hitched-up dress has turned brown, her knees green. Dirt is packed deep under her nails. Soon there will be a reception, and she must look as desirable as her name, but right now Desire is not thinking of that.

She is slick where her legs join her torso. This desire knows no direction. It mindlessly embraces the entire field. Desire wants the river to enter her.

She hears someone in the grass. She is fourteen, and she does not flee from the sound—she crawls toward it. A flash of grey among the scorched stalks. A doe rabbit. They gaze at each other.

Desire does not immediately understand what is wrong with the animal. From the grey fur, two pink mouths stare back at her. And from one of them, something is tearing its way out.

She is giving birth, the thought touches Desire softly, like a summer breeze, and then a violent spasm runs through her entire body. She cannot tear her eyes from the doe rabbit.

The birth ends far more quickly than Desire expected. It seems to her that not even ten minutes have passed when at last a slippery, glistening lump emerges, all smeared with blood. The doe rabbit licks it with her rough tongue.

Another rustle in the grass. A menacing gleam. Desire peers intently into the distance, and her heart catches in her throat. A snake is crawling toward them. Velvety black. Without fully understanding what she means to do, Desire lunges toward the doe rabbit and the kit, but recoils at once. The doe rabbit is not licking the blood from the kit—she is slowly devouring it.

When the snake slithers past them, only Desire and the doe rabbit remain in the field. They gaze at each other.

Desire was distracted by a rustling in the grass. She swiftly pressed herself lower to the ground: as low as her enormous belly would allow. They were searching for her. She and Regal were always being searched for.

A familiar itching crept from her shoulder blades up to her neck. Over the last month, something had been constantly crawling on Desire. Unknown parasites had infested their bed linens. When she tossed restlessly across the sheets at night, Shrewd assured her that the touch of their tiny paws was only a hallucination caused by the smoke she constantly breathed. But she knew they were real. Parasites everywhere.

Desire struck herself hard on the back of the head, hoping to kill something. Something alive that feeds on her.

She feared the slap had given her away. The rustling in the grass grew louder. They are coming for her. Something inside her twisted like wrung-out laundry. Desire wanted to stay quiet and fourteen forever. Forever with Regal. But she could not suppress a cry.

Regal was born late, when the heat had finally broken. Sunset flooded the hem of Desire's nightgown—she could not tell where her blood ended and the light began. Where she stopped dying and this day started to die. Usually Desire found children hideous (when she first took Galen into her arms, she had felt a cruel disappointment), but Regal was beautiful from the very first instant. He smiled at her. A stripe of blood ran along his brow. Desire pressed her lips to it and licked it up like the sweetest wine.

Can't remember if she was said to have overdosed or to have just did too much for too long but if it's overdosed just pretend I put that there instead.

I just came up with an AU where Fitz was in a Nettle like situation where his mom raised him and he didn’t know who his dad was. This is ground breaking, I know. Anyway, really think about how cool it could have been like I have so many ideas.

Fitz could Wit-Bond to a wolf in the mountains when he’s kinda young. The Fool could live in a tent or a small cabin in the woods then visit Fitz every once in a while, they could actually have a childhood together. After a trip in the woods Fitz, Keppet, could return to his mother dead, courtesy of Queen Desire trying to find him but his mother lying to the people she sent. Keppet taking a lock of her hair and braiding it into his own then he has to run because the guards are returning.

The overall story could be him first running to Jhaampe and trying to explain to his Sacrifices how his family was attacked by Six Duchies soldiers. Kettricken and/or Rurisk then trying to discuss it with the Six Duchies but that only gets Regal sent their way. After Regal inevitably tries to kill him Keppet decides to travel all the way to Buckkeep himself. Along the way he may discover travel companion such as Beloved, his wolf, and Burrich.
