TTV NEWS 台視新聞台 did a little recap on the TW bands at SXSW, I think this was at a ‘Taiwan Night’ event.  (美國南方音樂節「台灣之夜」規模升級)

Queen Suitcase 皇后皮箱 at SXSW, looks lie that went very well. (more photos at fb) No sign of any TW band videos from the fest, please lemme know if you spot something cool!  =D

Daphne Su 蘇子茵 almost missed her own performance yesterday; flights canceled-delayed-turned back, etc. She barely made it to the venue in time to play. (a long travel saga posted on her fb)

Did you know that 皇后皮箱 Queen Suitcase, TRASH, Aristophanes貍貓, 紅 April Red are all going to SXSW 2016?

There may be more, but that’s what I’ve found so far. Hard to find a full master list, but I don’t see any HK or China acts. Please let me know if you have better info!

A couple clips from Sunday at Pinglin Music Fest, Anniedora 安妮朵拉 and Queen Suitcase 皇后皮箱.   陳中 has several uploaded from both bands, really good quality.  =D

The QS song is Hold Me Tight, not It’s Alright.  Towards the end, he pans around to see all the peeps relaxing on the grass, it’s a very nice scene. (I did read it was quite hot, but at least it didn’t rain)

UPDATE: I just read that Wonfu had some equipment or sound issues, so they only played a few songs. Not sure if the delay was before they started or somewhere in the middle of their set, but as you can see in these photos, they handled it with aplomb:

hello! i wanted to ask for band recs. i like queen suitcase, dabang, queen sea big shark and yuguo a lot. could you recommend me similar mandarin bands? also i really like passepied and sakanaction, these two japanese bands. are there similar mandarin bands like them too? thank you and love your blog!!

You like female vocalists, and a few of these bands you list are danceable rock, so in that vein, I recommend My Skin Against Your Skin 激膚樂團, P!SCO, The White Eyes 白目樂團, The Girl and the Robots 女孩與機器人, Astro Bunny 原子邦妮. These last two are more electropop than the others. You could also try No Money No Honey, a band that mixes humor with their dance rock.  =)

Queen Suitcase 皇后皮箱 do a throwback style, with heavy Beatles, Britpop, Motown influences – I think you might like Wonfu 旺福, they have male & female lead vocal.
