Where my tboy witches at? Reblog so I can follow you.
DISCLAIMER: I wholly and heartily support trans rights. Joanne Kathleen Rowling is a TERF, radicalized by an echo chamber of wealth and power she hasn’t earned. Harry Potter is a story that no more belongs to here than to any of the hundreds of people who’ve added their parts to it over the decades, and less than to the fans whose lives it shaped.
I have two different Harry Potter decks (No money going to She-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named). I liked the first most in a walkthrough featuring four (HP Tarot by ellygator), but I discovered later that it leaned heavily toward the Thoth system. I’m learning that, too, but thought it might be easier to have a RWS, the tradition my other decks are in. I’ve learned a lot already from having Buffy and Game of Thrones decks. The second deck (Wizards Tarot by Paperdelune) was harder to track down. ellygator’s justifications are available on their DeviantArt page, and I haven’t located PdL’s (Note: this was written nearly a year ago. I can read okay with HP Tarot, but the rest stands. Except GoT tarot kinda sucks, though it has an excellent LWB.)
HEY, YOU!!
Do you like tarot readings? Do you want to support a beginner tarot reader? Great! Because I'm doing basic 3-card readings for $5 USD! And! If you have a follow up question or two, I can draw another card for that, at a $1 USD per extra card.
If you're interested, you can dm me here and I'll get back to you on if I can do your reading and to answer any questions.
Additonal meme that I think is needed :
beloved fiends and entities
I am now offering tarot readings for succor and counsel in these trying times, or otherwise inflicting them upon you until you pay me to stop - we’ll see how this goes.
I will be starting with daily three-card readings, and would be pleased to offer responses to personal asks. (Queer and gender-related themes very much encouraged in this here tree hollow!)
As this gets going, I would be very grateful for your support on ko-fi. I’m in a relatively stable situation for the time being, but currently have neither income nor transport, and as I’m sure you’re aware, groceries are gettin’ expensive.
I have a FAQs page! None of these Questions are Frequently Asked as of yet, but I figured I’d cover the basics.
If you like your serotonin in the form of cat pictures, that can be arranged.
Happy Beltane! Be gay do crimes don’t cross picket lines!
New logo! I made this up of all the images I could find of visible disability in tarot.
Hi! I'm Chelsey. I give in-depth, insightful readings. I'm a queer, disabled woman, and I make a point of being inclusive. Querents can choose their deck from my collection I'll read on most things, with the caveat that I'm not a lawyer, or a doctor (in spite of my Grey's Anatomy obsession). I don't read on dreams/ancestors/guides/angels--they don't hang out with me.
And, know what? I'll be honest. I live in a three-person household on fixed incomes that could get yanked away by a DOGE at any point. I love reading tarot, and every $5 helps, y'know?
I have degrees in English and Children's Literature, and give specialized readings using book-related decks.
Follow me on the socials for thoughts about tarot and disability, sometimes in the same post. bluesky chelseyblair meta chelseyblair89
May 10 - What’s a Gender
1. What’s your internal experience of your gender? How does it feel when you’re the only one home?
14 - Balance (trad. Temperance)
A concord of polarized energies is never a bad place to start when it comes to things like this. Regardless of where you fall, on or off the binary, having the ability to draw on all parts and potentialities gives you a bigger world and many more angles from which to operate. That’s one of the secrets, really - even when you know you’re one thing and not another, you still have access to the entirety of possibilities to draw on when you need them.
2. What is your experience of presenting yourself, and being perceived by others?
Nine of Arrows - Dedication
Showing up in the world is a whole ordeal - hard enough when it’s the imposed expectations of your assigned gender when you identify with it in the first place. Then there’s trying to get people to see you as the person you are when you don’t match up to what they expect. Trying to dictate first impressions, trying to gauge whether someone is going to be receptive to changing pronouns in mid-stream, trying to figure out if you’re safe to be out to them in the first place. Sometimes it’s the good-faith conversations that are the most frustrating, because you hope they might be worth your time and energy, but first you have to weed through all the assumptions.
People will throw around the words ‘be yourself’ and tack them up in sparkles on t-shirts like it’s easy, like they have any idea what we’re really up against when we do that, like they have any idea of the courage and doubt and practice and trial-and-error and reworking learned behaviors that it takes to do that. Being true to yourself is an ongoing act of persistence, and you have every reason to be proud of every time you’ve managed to pull it off.
3. What might you need to do to keep these things in harmony with each other?
1 - The Shaman (trad. The Magician)
The whole work of the Shaman can be summed up in the idea of reflecting the intangible concept in the material world. That’s magic and gender in a nutshell, really, and that’s what names and clothes and pronouns and trying out that thing that you thought might be neat but someone told you wasn’t for you. They’re not exactly what makes you you, any more or less than the ones you started with, but saying something out loud or putting it into your physical space helps make things real for yourself in ways you don’t expect. You’ll learn to bounce back and forth between your inner and outer worlds (as circumstances and safety permit). Study up, pay attention, see how things make you feel - you’re so much more than what they’ve told you to be.
