This is the worst thing I've read on here this month
On episode 106 of @americansexpodcast @calliegetsit of the @queersplaining_ podcast has a candid conversation with us about her experience with bottom surgery. She shares a snapshot at life leading up to surgery including establishing her trans identity. Then Callie takes us step-by-step through the physical & mental prep, recovery, and the procedure itself. During the two years that followed, Callie learned that reclaiming her sexuality with her new vagina was multi-layered–it affected her marriage, her relationship with her body, and sex from a psychological perspective. Although it isn’t typical (or expected) for trans folks to openly talk about their genitals, having these conversations is important to Callie. This information can be reaffirming and necessary for those that opt for bottom surgery and are rediscovering their sexuality. I am tired of people being ignorant and not trying to understand so.... Queersplaining TM is now a thing
Queersplaining (as an umbrella term) - when someone who isn’t of said sexuality or identity tries to define said sexuality or identity when they don’t know what they’re talking about and act like a person of said sexuality or identity is wrong
I love how a huge portion of this website decided that one of the best and most important ways to fight trans woman-exclusionary radical feminism was to start a mass gaslighting campaign against any and all LGBT+ people who have experienced legitimate violence and trauma at the hands of regular old LGBT+phobes that has made the word queer triggering to us
Forget about the bigender flag remake. I found out you tag queer as q word which breaks my DNI. I can't have queerphobes interacting. That is a historically important identity label and attempting to erase it is disrespectful toward people like my wife who work really hard toward a degree in queer theory and history. It also spits in the faces of people who have reclaimed the word for themselves. If you don't tag gay as a reclaimed slur then don't do it to queer. You can just tag queer.
Okay firstly, THAT IS MY POST. YOU interacted with ME.
Secondly,
Are we really doing this today? I use the q-word tag because I and many others have experienced LGBT+phobic violence associated with that word being deployed as a slur against us and find it triggering. I tag any instance of the word being assigned to other people without their consent with the neutral q-word tag, not the q-slur tag, and I don't tag instances of people using it to describe themselves because I know it's an important word to other people and I'm trying to be sensitive to that while still tagging for a PERSONAL TRIGGER on my PERSONAL BLOG.
It's really not a good look to be talking down to survivors of LGBT+phobic harassment and violence from your ivory tower and acting like we're oppressing your wife and her expensive liberal arts degree by having trauma triggers. It makes you look callous and out of touch with the unpleasant realities of the likely less privileged people you share your community with.
And insinuating that gay people need to experience the exact same "mistreatment" you believe yourselves to be experiencing at the hands of the Big Mean Traumatized LGBT+ Folks as some sort of twisted gotcha when basically no LGBT+ people see gay as a slur and certainly no one who follows me has asked me to tag for it is uhhhh fucking homophobic.
Piss off.
That's it! I'm not following people anymore if they put six pages of bullshit about how not wanting to be called "queer" makes someone TERF aligned on my dash! I'm not doing it anymore! Shut the fuck up!
