Hello all, I’m back from my exhausting 12 day traipse through the Canadian Wilderness!! Please enjoy these pictures while I go grab a hot shower and some food that isn’t freeze dried 💕
While my sister and brother in law are here we did some planning for our late August paddle/portage trip into the Quetico. Five days with day one being the toughest.
We will stay at the cabin the night before and then will go back to the cabin after where we will meet all of the family for Labor Day weekend.
Can’t wait.
This one’s going to be special. I’ve been taking one or two back-country canoe trips in the BWCA for more than twenty years, and one of them was a full week trip. But this year, we’re starting on the far north side of the Quetico in Canada, and planning a 7-night trip to exit at Fall Lake, right outside of Ely. This is our planned route, of about 100 miles.

Starting to plan a five night canoe trip into the Quetico. Me and my siblings and spouses. Late August 2019.

Big pikes! This was such a cool fish. After throwing for smallmouth most of the morning we saw a deeper bay that looked "pikey" we switched rods and started throwing big flies with wire leaders. Within 5 minutes I had a bump and threw right back in. Just a couple strips of the line and wham! . . . #flyfishing #fishing #quetico #pikefishing #northenpike #esox #streamerfishing #gobigorgohome #canoe #flyvsjerk https://www.instagram.com/p/Cfbgt17u8YZ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
