So I was watching Merlin with my mom (no spoilers please, we only just started!), and there was a cute scene between Gwen and Morgana, so I said I ship it. My mom just gave me this incredulous look, and said but Gwen likes Merlin! You can't just force your sexual preferences onto characters!

First of all, I'm bisexual. So, by her logic, if shipping a f/f relationship is considered to be 'forcing my sexual preferences on characters', I could be 'forcing my sexual preferences on characters' by shipping a m/f relationship
