-PIETRO'S POV-
-Freshman Year -
My jaw dropped open as I watched her move to the beat of the music. We were currently sitting in the large auditorium of SHIELD High, attending the freshmen orientations.
Before graduating middle school, I had been offered scholarships to join the track and field team from SHIELD High and HYDRA High but ultimately decided on SHIELD after my sister, Wanda, chose to attend SHIELD. Besides, most of our friends in higher years are studying in SHIELD too.
"Pietro, shut your mouth, you're drooling," Clint hissed from my left, nudging me with his elbow. I quickly closed my mouth, not realizing I had it open the whole time. I touched the sides of my mouth to see if I was drooling.
"Who are you staring at?" Wanda asked from my right after seeing my exchange with Clint, curious as to why I was staring so intently at a group of sweaty boys and girls hand standing, head spinning and all those sorts on stage.
"Her. The one in the middle?" I pointed at the girl who was preparing to do a backflip. Her hair was tied into a messy bun, a snapback over it. She barely had any make-up on and had sweat running down her forehead, but she still looked stunning.
"Oh, Y/N L/N? You're in the same year. The dance team tried recruiting her since she was in middle school, and she just training with them in the summer break." Clint explained. He was a couple of years above us, and of course, he would know the people in school.
Y/N L/N… So that was her name…
"Dude, you are so not her type," Clint mumbled.
-Senior Year-
I tapped my foot loudly against the floor as I saw my friends approaching me by my locker. I darted my eyes back and forth my friends and the wall, debating on whether or not I should tell them about my tiny crush. Okay, fine, it wasn't tiny. I've had a crush on her for 3 years now, but still - she barely knows I exist.
Sure, we were both from different sports in school - she was in dance while I was in track, but our teams often practiced in the same place. We would be running around the oval, and the dance team would be rehearsing in the middle of the oval.
I've probably had 100,000 chances to talk to her since our practices ended around the same time, but I chickened out every time. Every. Single. Time.
There was a day wherein she made a move that caused her cap to fly toward the track, right to the spot where I was running towards, but I saw her coming, and in panic, my dumb ass decided to turn around and run the other direction. I got a scolding from the coach for that.
Only Wanda and Clint know I like her, but besides the two of them, no one else knows. I've kept it a secret for 3 long years. I think my friends deserve to know why I haven't dated anyone since freshman year, Nat was starting to get worried. Luckily, everyone was visiting their old high school today. Steve, Tony, Bucky, Sam, Clint, and Nat had graduated a couple of years ago but decided to drop by today to catch up with Wanda and me.
I stared at my friends as they stood approached me, and before any of my friends could say hi, I quickly blurted out four words.
"I like Y/N L/N."
There was a dramatic 5-second pause then they all started laughing. Minus my sister, Clint, and Steve, who gave me sympathetic looks.
"Are you high?" Sam asked as Bucky snickered. What friends I have.
"I've never even seen you in the same class as her, let alone talk to her," Bucky said. "What brought this on?"
I let out a big sigh, ready to tell them everything. After telling them the whole story, I braced myself for all the teasing.
"Repeating Sam's question, what are you on?" Tony asked with a chuckle.
"Three years is a long time, Speedy," Steve mumbled. He would understand how I feel, he's been in love with Peggy since the 6th grade.
"Pietro, you idiot! If you really - as in really, REALLY like her, go talk to her," Nat exclaimed, shaking my shoulders, practically shouting in my face. I looked behind her to see my other friends standing behind her, nodding.
"Suck it up, man. You're a dude." Bucky added, shaking his head in disapproval.
"What the fuck is that supposed to mean?" Clint mouthed in confusion. I sighed. Why was this so easy for them?
"Oh, lookie. Here she comes!" Tony exclaims, pointing at the group walking down the corner.
"Don't point!" I quickly grabbed Tony's wrist, pulling him away from the main corridor, everyone else following behind us.
"Seriously, though, brother," Wanda mumbled. "It's finals week and right after this week is graduation season."
"Yeah!" Nat exclaimed, backing her up. "And we all go to college, meaning we separate and then your chance with lady dancer goes bye-bye."
"Whoa, chill, girls," Clint told them, laughing and the other guys chuckling behind him.
"Still," she sighed. "Do you plan on telling her?"
I thought about it for a moment.
"Okay, forget that question," Steve spoke. "The real question is, why do you like her?"
I thought about it for a second… There was always alluring about her in my eyes. There was always this sense of contentment just seeing her smile during practices - I didn't care if we didn't know each other - just knowing that I can see her nearly every day was enough for me. Her smile, her patience when teaching and learning routines, I loved those aspects of her the most.
"It's simple," I started with a smile, looking out the window. "She's an angel."
Well, graduation day finally rolled by. And no, I haven't talked to Y/N yet.
We all sat down in our respected seats by class. Wanda sat beside me since we had the same last names.
As the principal was making his… Interesting speech, Wanda poked my side. I gave her a look, wondering why she had a mischievous grin on her face that kinda resembled a Cheshire cat.
"I have her number," she whispered, wiggling her eyebrows. "Well, technically, Sam had her number and gave it to me."
I looked at her in confusion. What the hell was she gonna do with her number?
"You're…?" I asked.
"I'll text her! We're friends," she told me.
"You two are friends?" I asked her in disbelief.
"Well, on Facebook." she sheepishly admitted. "But anyway, I'll text her, telling her I wanna talk to her about something, but instead of me, you'll be there."
I stared at her weirdly. My sister is smart, but in this situation, I don't know if I'm supposed to thank her or facepalm.
After getting our diplomas and receiving our awards, we were finally dismissed. Our friends were here for our graduation, and before I could walk away to start heading home, Nat grabbed my arm.
"Oh no, you don't, mister," she smugly said, yanking my arm back towards the ground. "Wanda told me what's happening." I looked back at my friends and it seemed like Wanda had told the whole gang.
"You're finally gonna be a man!" Clint dramatically wailed, jokingly sniffling into the sleeves of his button-up shirt.
Steve smiled at me, happy for me, I guess? In the background, I could see Sam furrowing his eyebrows as if he was trying to recall something.
"Oh! Here she comes!" Nat mini-yelped. She quickly ushered everyone away to the other side of the room.
My heart was beating fast, faster than when I finished my runs. I was Y/N walking towards me, poking her head around, probably looking for Wanda.
Here goes nothing.
"Umm, hi?" I said out loud as she approached where I stood. I could see Nat and Clint peeking out from under the refreshments table behind her.
"Oh, hi!" she greeted back, smiling at me before looking around again.
"Are you looking for Wanda?" I asked, feeling my cheeks turning hot. When did talking become so hard? I literally
"Yeah! You're Wanda's brother, Pietro, right?"
LORD. SHE KNOWS MY NAME.
"O-Oh! Yeah…" I shyly mumbled.
"Well, have you seen Wanda?" Y/N asked, smiling and curling some of her hair behind her ear. I can die a happy man today. "She told me to meet her here…?" she chucked, unsure.
"Actually, I'm the one who-" I began but got cut off by the sound of her phone ringing.
"Oh! I'm so sorry," she apologized, taking her phone out her pocket and picking it up. "Please give me a second."
"Hello? Oh, baby!" she greeted over the phone, a huge smile found its way to her face as she listed to the other person talk.
Wait. Baby…?
"Okay! See you in a second, Loki! Love you!" she chirped and hung up. She turned back to me with an apologetic smile. "I'm really sorry my boyfriend is waiting outside. He just arrived from the UK and I need to go. Please tell Wanda I'll call her tonight!" she explained and apologized again before running towards the exit.
What…?
"Oh, shit," Bucky mumbled, coming out of nowhere with everyone else.
"Didn't see that coming…" Tony muttered.
"DAMMIT," Sam yelled out of nowhere. "I knew I was forgetting something!"
"What?" I asked no one in particular. What the hell just happened?
THE END

A/N I swear this is like borderline a joke but I wrote this in 2016 and thought it would be cute to post on here. :’)
A/N: Enjoy the 400 follower spoil-fest!! Thank you so much for all the love and support. I hope you enjoy this story and that you enjoy this spoil-fest! Feedback is always welcome and encouraged and greatly appreciated! Just another quick little Drabble for y'all!
Summary: There's something you've been meaning to tell Peter and it comes out in possibly the worst way.
(gif not mine!)
You sighed, looking down at your phone in frustration. Sure, it wasn't hard to tell your crush that you liked them, but to you, it felt literally impossible to tell Peter you liked him. You were just about 100% sure that he didn't like you that way and that he only saw you as a friend.
Not that you were ungrateful! You were so immensely grateful for the opportunity to be Peter's friend. He was the dorkiest, sweetest person you'd ever met, and that was what made you like him so much. He never failed to make you smile. He was always happy to spend time with you and make you laugh. He'd even hold you and take you for runs, and damn, you wished you could just take it to the next level.
Your phone dinged as Jean replied to your previous text, "Just do it. It won't end badly. Trust me."
You groaned, quickly texting Jean back, sending a photo of Peter and you, "I'm too nervous. I just wish he would like me back."
"Peter is right next to me!!!"
Your heart dropped as you panicked. A yelp escaped your mouth as you tossed your phone across the room, and you immediately began pacing. Fuck, fuck, fuck! What if Peter saw it! Oh god, he was going to freak out. He'd probably think you were a freak. Your heart remained in your stomach at the realization that you most likely just screwed over your chance with the one person you never wanted to mess anything up with.
"Who said I didn't like you?"
Your scream filled the air as you jumped, spinning around to see none other than Peter. His signature smirk was plastered on his face as you grasped your chest, desperately trying to calm down your heart. But how could you? How could anyone remain calm around Peter with his smile and goofy attitude and a caring personality?
"Peter! I-I-I.. oh crap!" You gasped out, looking around your room for some way to get out of your situation.
"(Y/n), calm down. It's okay," Peter smiled, walking up to you, "I like you too."
"Y-y-you do?"
"How could I not?" Peter winked at you playfully, gently grasping one of your hands and pulling you into his chest, "What do you say we go for a run to get some ice cream. It'll be my treat, our first date. Then I can properly ask you out."
Smiling up at Peter, you nodded eagerly, throwing all caution to the wind. Peter liked you, actually liked you back, and that made you ecstatic. As you clung to Peter and prepared for him you run, you thought that maybe it wasn't that hard to tell your crush that you liked them.

Summary: After coming back from a mission with your long-time best friend Pietro, things take an unexpected turn.
(gif not mine!)
You leaned against Peter as a whine left your lips, "Stop doing that!"
"I'm sorry I just hate going slow," Peter frowned as he closed his door behind him.
You snickered as you began to pull down the zipper of your mission suit, "I bet you do, don't you."
Peter appeared behind you, a 'whoosh' accompanying him as your hair flew forward, and he asked in that suggestive tone he often used, "What's that supposed to mean?"
You swatted at his hand, "So dirty-minded."
Slipping off your suit you were quick to reach for your shorts and one of Peter's t-shirts. But it quickly disappeared with a 'whish' that made you pout as you turned to see Peter holding them by the door. It was often like this between you and Peter. Constantly flirting, the sexual tension high between you two... ignoring the fact that you were a virgin and that you were madly in love with Peter and had been for as long as you could remember.
Peter and you had grown up together, so despite the fact that you two weren't a couple, you always were this way. Changing in front of the other, showering with the other in the bathroom getting ready, teasing each other about anyone you looked at for slightly just too long.
"Peter Maximoff, give me my clothes," You spoke sternly, crossing your arms and unintentionally pushing your breasts up for Peter to get a better view of.
He shrugged, "I like you better with them off."
You rolled your eyes, "It's not fair if I'm the only one in their underwear."
Within a blink, Peter was in nothing but his boxers, smiling cheekily before appearing right in front of you, "Y'know darling, when you cross your arms like that, you're really just giving me a better show."
Immediately you dropped your arms, going to swat Peter's arm but before you got the chance you were plopping onto the bed. You frowned at Peter who stood right beside where you lay on the bed, a smirk wide on his face. Your eyes roamed over his body, heat rising to your cheeks as you saw the slight tent that was rising in his boxers. Peter couldn't like you that way... could he?
"Geez Pete seems like you're the one giving me a show," You smirked as you teased him.
Peter's eyes shifted before he was suddenly hovering over you, "I could give you a show.. oh I could give you a good show."
You gulped as one of his hands placing itself on your cheek before he slowly lowered his lips. Sparks. Fireworks. Warm tingles radiating throughout your whole body. There was no proper way to express the pure joy radiating throughout your body as your lips finally met Peter's. It was needy, both of you had been waiting far too long to kiss like this, to actually act upon your instincts. When you pulled away Peter's forehead connected with yours while his hands roamed down to your hips.
"Damn I've waited too long to do that," Peter groaned, squeezing your hips.
"You're telling me," You teased before realizing your position, "Wait... Pete, I'm a virgin."
"Wait, you're a virgin?"
"Oh shut up, don't act like you don't know. You never let any guys near me."
At this Peter laughs, kissing your cheek, "You're mine, now let me show you a good time,"
Peter smiled before attaching his lips to your neck, kissing and sucking, making his way down. Your hands find his silver locks and you pull, smiling at the groan he emits. He's gentle with you, unclasping your bra and pulling it off you agonizingly slow as he continues to kiss, now on your breasts. His hand finds the way between your legs, rubbing your clothed pussy and eliciting a loud moan.
Peter takes his time, his mouth suckling your nipple while one hand rubs your clit and the other kneads your other breast. You're slightly amazed how he remains only balanced on his elbow before he switches. His mouth switches to your other nipple while his hands switch, only this time he slides two fingers in, causing you to moan loudly.
"Keep quiet," Peter hisses against your boob.
You give a tug on his hair, prompting a groan from him that makes you smile, "Don't be gentle. Just 'cause I'm a virgin doesn't mean I haven't masturbated."
Peter hums in response, adding a third finger, and begins thrusting in quickly. You bite your lip as your hands tighten in his hair. Within a few seconds, he's detaching his mouth from your nipple, only to attach it to your clit. His pace is relentless, and if you didn't know him so well you might've accused him of using his mutation on you. He smiles at your reaction, enjoying the show you were giving him.
"Too long," You moan as he pulls his fingers out.
"Such a good girl. Always have been," He praises you as he pulls away slightly, "So responsive for me, how long have you thought of this?"
"I'll go gentle for this," Peter smiles lovingly at you, lining himself up with your entrance, "That is if you still want this. We don't have to do any of this. I know it's quite sudden."
"No, please, ruin me. Please, Pete."
A smirk rises to his face at your needy request before he slowly begins to push in. You claw at his shoulders, nodding each time as Peter asks if you're okay. After he is fully in -and holy shit he's huge- he stays still until you nod for him, breathlessly telling him it's okay to continue. He starts slowly, pulling out and thrusting in until you slowly begin to moan again.
Your quiet moans begin to fill the room as Peter picks up pace, thrusting into you. His head drops as he nestles into your neck, kissing and nipping as he thrusts. His soft grunts float up to your ears, which only make you feel even more consumed by bliss.
Peter Maximoff, your best friend since you were three, was currently thrusting himself into you in the most intimate way possible. You had, dreamed of this moment for far too long, and judging by Peter's grunts, he had too.
"So good.. oh, so good darling. You're such a.. a.. good girl for me. O-oh, I've waited so long for this," Peter groaned into your neck, "Oooh, you feel so good, darling."
"P-Pete," You moaned softly, your hands finding his silver hair once more and tugging, "I'm g-gonna cum."
"Cum for me good girl, cum for me."
His words slammed you over the edge, your walls clenching tightly around Peter as you orgasm. It didn't take him much longer, stilling inside you as he followed. He collapsed against you, using his arms to hold up some of his weight while he kissed your shoulder.
"You did so good darling."
"Pete, I... I love you."
"I love you too, was it not obvious enough?"
You both laughed as he lifted his head, "I'd be lost without you."

Summary: You get injured on a mission, scaring Peter beyond what he thought was possible.
(gif not mine!)
It was supposed to be a simple mission.
In and out. Free the mutant that had been trapped in the lab and leave. It was the reason why they'd only sent you and Scott into the lab. It was why Hank, Raven, and Peter stayed on the jet. It was because it was supposed to be so simple that both Scott and you had your guards down.
You never expected the mutant to have been violent, turned aggressive through some kind of stimulant he must have been injected with. But he had turned violent, and when tight hands gripped your shoulders you couldn't help but scream as you were then thrown backward.
Your body slammed into a wall, followed shortly by your head, and the feeling of warm liquid dripping through your scalp was the last thing on your mind as you were yanked up again and slammed back against the same wall. A yelp left your mouth, and you didn't even have time to use your mutation, no water was in your sight for you to control. You cried out Scott's name as the mutant slammed you once more before throwing you again.
The sounds of shattering filled the air as you flew through a glass wall, small and large shards digging into your skin in a way that had an agonizing scream leaving your mouth before your vision went black.
You missed the bright red light of Scott killing off the deranged mutant. You missed Peter bursting into the room with a panicked look on his face. You missed the two boys running over to you as they felt their world slowly fall.
"(Y/n)?" Scott's voice called as your eyes fluttered open as if you sensed them sitting by you.
Your eyes were trained on Scott when you began to panic, you could feel the warm blood leaving the various cuts on your body. But you didn't care about that. No, death was something you'd become okay with after all the missions you had been on. What you were panicking about was the idea of leaving Peter, who you hadn't even had the chance to tell that you love him. You didn't even get to kiss that damn silver-haired boy and now you were dying.
"Oh.. Oh god," You whimpered, "No.. It’s all in my head. This isn’t actually happening," Your eyes drifted up to see Peter's panicked brown eyes looking down at you, "You’re not real!"
"Of course I'm real," Peter tried to laugh, but only a cry came out instead.
"No.. no crying," You gasped out, eyes flicking to Scott's face, "I'll be fine... yep, fine.. but, if I die, I'm haunting you first."
Scott smiled softly as he watched your gaze shift back to Peter, who was cradling your head. He knew how you felt about Peter, and he knew Peter felt the same. He had spent so long trying to convince both of you to tell each other that you liked one another, and now he felt like it was all pointless. He should've just told you Peter liked you, but now... here you were lying on the floor with your blood beginning to coat your suit. It wasn't only seconds later that Hank and Raven rushed in, but your eyes were closed, having slipped back into unconsciousness.
Peter nearly screamed when Hank pulled you out of his arms to begin addressing your cuts. He lurched forward, desperate to hold you, to feel your warmth and ensure that you were still alive, but Scott caught him, holding the crying boy back. Hank was quick in removing your suit to leave you in your tank top and shorts, beginning to address the largest cuts first.
"No! NO!" Peter cried, trying to shove Scott, too panicked to even consider using his mutation, "I need to hold her! She-She needs me! I can't lose her!"
"Peter," Raven piped up as she blocked his view of you, "Calm down. She'll be okay, (Y/n) is gonna be fine."
"No, please, just let me hold her, please," Peter begged Raven, "I... I won't hurt her, please. Raven, please!"
It was painful for Peter, even when Raven finally allowed him to go back to your side on the jet after Hank had handled the majority of your cuts. His leg bounced the whole time as he held your hand on the flight home, desperately wishing your eyes would flutter open so he could see your beautiful (e/c) eyes once more. But they didn't, not until a few hours later when you had already been situated into a hospital bed at the mansion.
"Oh god, I thought you died!" Peter had yelped when he saw your eyes open.
You couldn't help but scoff, "Nobody's haunted you yet. You should have known I was alive."
Peter laughed, watching intently as you smiled, and he felt his heart swell. He didn't think anything would compare to the pain he felt watching you lie so still as your yellow X-Men suit slowly darkened with your blood. Overwhelmed by those thoughts, Peter lurched forward, his lips crashing against yours in a soft, rushed way. Fireworks clouded your vision as your eyes fluttered close, responding to Peter's kiss immediately and losing yourself in the kiss.
Peter pulled back slowly, taking in a deep breath of air as your eyes opened, locking together, "Wow."
You nodded, "That's not how I expected today to end... but... I liked it."
"You could say that again," Peter smiled widely, "Just... promise me you won't nearly die again."
"Promise," you mumbled, linking your pinkie finger with Peter's.
You could not have imagined a terrible mission ending more perfectly.
can we get 1 and 2 in a peter maximoff x reader story?

Summary: You heal Peter during a mission but that's definitely not what he tells the kids that idolized him.
(gif not mine!)
The mission went well… to say the least. The mission had been successfully completed, the mutant child being apprehended from the scene safely, however, that didn't mean that dumb things didn't happen. Truthfully, when didn't something go slightly weird when Peter was there.
In an attempt to show off his mutation and complete the mission quicker Peter had tried to speed through the scene to get to the young mutant. However, in all his heroic attempts, all Peter managed to do was slam his head into a collapsed metal pipe, one he had noticed too late to duck away from. Immediately you watched his form slam onto his back, a yelp leaving his lips that had you rushing over to him.
“Peter!? What the hell?” You gulped as you dropped to your knees beside him, immediately noticing the area on his forehead where he was bleeding. Looking up you noticed the pole and promptly grumbled, “You did not just run face-first into this pipe.”
“In my defense… it came at me. It wasn't there and then it came at me,” Peter offered you a smile as he slowly sat up, watching as Raven and Scott handled the young mutant.
“That was so stupid," You spoke softly as you formed a small purple ball of energy and gently allowed to go over Peter's injury and heal it.
Peter smiled widely as you healed him, watching you in awe before speaking up, “And also kinda cool, right?”
“No.. just stupid.”
But besides that, the mission was smooth. The young mutant child didn't argue with coming back to the mansion, agreeing almost immediately. You had helped Peter up and dragged him to the plane, lecturing him the whole time while he pouted like a child. Jean and Scott watched in amusement and the young mutant child was talking excitedly with Kurt and Ororo while Raven and Hank flew the jet back home.
Upon arriving at home you and Peter were immediately back to your playful selves. Shoving him with enough of your purple energy to send him down the ramp he turned and pouted at you once again while waiting patiently. Rolling your eyes came all too naturally around Peter as you followed him down the ramp and kissed his cheek. You both walked back into the mansion, hands intertwined with Ororo and Kurt following the two of you.
They watched as the regular group of kids that idolized Peter ran up to him, immediately asking where he had gotten the bruise on his head from.
"I was doing it all! Y/n here wasn't doing anything and I hit my head while saving her!" Peter huffed exasperatedly to the kids, watching their eyes lit up.
"That is so not true!" You laughed, shoving the silver-haired boy, "He was using his mutation and didn't notice a pole and slammed his head, I had to save him."
Peter gaped at you, "Not true!"
You tossed your head back in genuine laughter as Peter's eyes widened while quickly glancing at the kids, trying, and failing, to get you to agree so Peter would look cool, "It is true! You were claiming that the pole attacked you. It's okay Pete-y... not everyone can have super strength as their mutation."
Peter gasped loudly, a hand flying to his chest and covering his heart, "Oh! Oh! I've been fatally wounded by my own teammate!"
The kids were giggling uncontrollably at this point, "Need me to save you again?"
Jean rolled her eyes as she walked up to Kurt and Ororo, who was watching your interactions with Peter and the kids. She smiled widely, nudging Ororo gently as you yanking Peter into your side, pulling him into a headlock and immediately encasing his head within your purple energy. Ororo laughed loudly as Peter failed to speed out of your arms, your mutation of magic similar to his sister Wanda's mutation, only yours was purple.
"They're good for each other," Jean smiled making Ororo nod.
Kurt, however, tilted his head slightly as he watched you two entertaining the group of kids, "You think so?"
Ororo scoffed, rolling her eyes at their blue friend, "Please! They were destined to be together."
You released Peter from his headlock to which he stumbled back slightly, a large pout on his face. You smiled widely as he dashed to your side, your hair blowing out behind you. Gently, you leaned up and kissed his cheek, immediately earning many groans and fake gags amongst the young kids in contrast to your friends who watched you two with fond eyes. You and Peter truly were destined to be together.

Summary: Peter has repeatedly tried to push the reader away until one day he avoids them completely. Annoyed and worried you go looking for Peter to confront him when much more than you expected is revealed.
(gif not mine!)
Peter and you had an odd relationship, you always had. Your relationship honestly depended on how the two of you were feeling. One minute the two of you would be arguing with the other, then the next minute you would be endlessly flirting. Despite your moments, the two of you always came back to the other.
It wasn't often that you went a whole day without seeing Peter, let alone more than three hours. That's what lead to you walking the school, asking random people if they'd seen the silver-haired boy. Each person gave you the same answer, no. For the third time that day, you went to Peter's room, knocking lightly and finally just opening the door.
“Peter?” You asked to the seemingly empty room, stepping in slightly before smiling, “I know you're behind the door.”
“Dammit,” He sighed, stepping out from behind the door and plopping down onto his bed.
His silver jacket was tossed carelessly on the floor, his hair a disheveled mess that had your eyebrows raising. Slowly you walked to his bed and sat on the very end, looking towards Peter with a gentle gaze even though he wasn't looking at you. The air was thick with tension, thick enough you were beginning to feel like you couldn't breathe.
Deciding that teasing might be the best way to cheer Peter up you smirked, trying your best to ignore your nerves as you piped up, “You look like shit Peter.”
“Gee, how sweet,” He huffed.
“I am sweet,” You smiled.
Peter, though you still couldn't see his face perfectly, rolled his eyes and earned a scoff from you, “You're truly something special y'know.”
“I know,” You gushed cheekily, “I'm one of a kind, irreplaceable, the bestest there is.”
At this, Peter remained quiet, and you frowned, speaking softly you asked, “Peter… are you alright?”
He sighed, pulling himself up to lean back against his headboard, “I will be.”
“Holding everything in doesn’t help, you know, it just hurts you more.”
Peter stared at you, looking over all your features as thoughts quite literally raced through his head. Slowly over the past few days, Peter had realized that he was in love with you. Now, he would never outwardly admit that, not now at least. If he did gather up the courage to tell you he'd simply claim he liked you, the thought of scaring you off had been driving him insane lately.
Unbeknownst to you, Peter's words held a much deeper meaning than you realized. He did think you were special, incredibly special, something completely irreplaceable, and honestly, at this point, the silver-haired boy had no clue what he would do if he lost you. That's why he'd been gone all day. He'd locked himself in his room and spent the day thinking about you, thinking about how long he'd been madly in love with you for and how on earth he was going to keep it hidden from you.
“I know,” Peter finally replied in a sigh, his gaze dropping to his hands.
“I'm here for you Peter,” Your genuine tone shocked the boy, making him look back up from his hands, “I'm here, you can vent to me, talk to me. You can tell me all those things you're holding in. I won't judge you, and I won't tell anyone. You… you matter to me Pete, I wanna help you.”
The boy visibly softened as you spoke to him, and it dawned on you that Peter probably never had someone he truly felt he could confide in. You'd often all hung out with your group, and Scott would be the one to tease Peter for ‘talking too fast’ or ‘rambling too much’ when he'd complain about his day or something specific that happened. Upon this realization, a frown slowly made its way onto your face. You never considered how much those comments must have affected Peter, knowing very well that he couldn't help it. His mutation was super speed, for crying out loud! Of course, his brain worked extremely quickly, so he was bound to speak fast from time to time.
You resisted the urge to reach out and pull Peter into a huge, wanting nothing more than to comfort the boy you had a major crush on. You wanted to heal all his insecurities and make sure he never had a reason to feel insecure ever again. Right then, you decided to stick up for Peter the next time Scott, or anyone for that matter, made a comment.
Peter's head dropped your gaze, his eyes locking onto his hands once more as you sighed, “Peter please let me help. What's wrong? Why are you upset?”
“I don't like the feelings I have,” Peter grumbled, “They make things hard.”
You smiled slightly, relieved he was opening up slightly, “How can I help you with these feelings you're having?”
“You can't."
You huffed, watching Peter shake his head before you grumbled, “Why are you pushing me away? Did I do something wrong? Are… are you… why are you mad at me?”
“Because I fell for you, isn't it obvious!” You froze immediately at Peter's confession, only prompting him to continue, “Because I've fallen for you, y/n. I've fallen for every bit of you. Your contagious laughter, your sweet, caring personality, your sparkling eyes. I've fallen for the way you crinkle your nose when I make a snarky comment and the way you always look to me first when Scott does something stupid. The way you always tease me about my hair at breakfast and the way you always tap your foot when apologizing after our arguments. I.. I've fallen so hard, and I know I'm probably ruining our relationship but, fuck, I can't keep this in anymore, I guess. I'm rambling, sorry.”
“Stop,” You breathed out, shaking your head, “Don't apologize for rambling... I… I love when you ramble, Peter. But, I need you to tell me the truth. If this is some stupid joke, this isn't funny."
Peter sat up fully, no longer leaning on his bedframe as he reached out to grasp one of your hands, “And the way you always pull your eyebrows together when you're worried or thinking too hard. I don't even think you realize you do it,” At Peter's words, you slowly realized he was right, your eyebrows were tugged together, and you slowly relaxed them, watching the boy in front of you, “It's not a joke. I wouldn't joke about this, about the way I feel about you.”
As he finished speaking, tears slowly welled in your eyes as silence took over. Immediately, Peter began to worry. Great, he'd ruined everything, hadn't he? Before he could voice a single concern, you threw yourself into his arms, wrapping your arms tightly around his neck, a gleeful laugh escaping your lips.
“God, Peter, you don't have any idea how long I've waited to hear that,” You smiled into his neck, relishing in the way his arms wrapped around your torso.
A large smile plastered across his face as he squeezed you tighter, “Y/n… if you'd let me. I'd love to remind you each day of the reasons why I've fallen for you.”
You pulled back enough to look at the boy, smiling widely, “Are you asking me out, Peter?”
“Yes, please… please make me the and happy man that is your boyfriend.”
You laughed at his words, leaning forward to connect your foreheads as you both smiled like goofs, “Yea… I think I'd like that. Can't be too bad, can it?”
