Viktor krum, international Quidditch player, was selected for his national team of Bulgaria at just 17 years old. During his first year, he carried his team to the final of the 1994 Quidditch World Cup where, while Krum did catch the snitch, they were narrowly defeated by Ireland with a final score of 170-160. Widely regarded as one of the best players in the world, he retired from Quidditch after the Bulgarian defeat in the final of the 2002 World Cup. He later came out of retirement to compete in the 2014 World Cup, out of a desire “to win the World Cup before I die”. The Bulgarian side famously won the World Cup that year, after beating Brazil.
