This is my trade city. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
The Free City of Quilcene is a city built on making it self indispensable. Gaining independence in the largest act of public rebellion the continent has ever seen, Quilcene maintains the only navigable waterway between the Northern Sea and the Imperial Lakes. As the economic powerhouses of the empire have moved further and further away from Kanteria, Quilcene has capitalized on the paradigm shift, courting Great Houses and Imperial Nobility alike as it moves coins to the pockets it sees fit. Likewise, the city markets itself to the common class through its universal message of self-determination. The City That Made Itself attracts thousands of immigrants every year to its bustling streets, all seeking to get a piece of the dream that lingers in the shadowy corners.
And yes, it looks like upside-down Manhattan. Total Coincidence Probably.
