She sat on the cold kitchen floor with a drink in her hand and mascara smeared across her face,
“It’s not fair, it’s not fair, it’s not fair…” she repeated it over and over again until she could speak no more; her voice hoarse from sobbing.
But that was not the worse part, no, the worse part was when she sat there on that cold kitchen floor in silence. A silence so haunting and eerie it would stop someone dead in their tracks.
Her big blue eyes looked off into the distance; glazed over. The stars in her eyes were nothing but dust and any promise that was ever made was burnt on her lips and nothing but a whisper of what used to be.
She stood up with the glass in her hand and screamed as she smashed it against the wall,
“IT’S NOT FAIR!”
She fell once more on the floor and went silent. And still, her soul was empty and she felt nothing but the numbness taking over her tired body cradling her and holding her like he never did. And he never would. Cause he was never hers to begin with.
