since girl genius and metroidvanias both seem very much in your wheelhouse, thoughts on the girl genius game that just got announced on kickstarter?
Given the enormous fiasco the last video game project Studio Foglio crowdfunded turned out to be, I’m inclined to reserve judgment.
(Also, I haven’t been terribly impressed by the past work of the third-party developer they’ve tapped to produce it, and the Kickstarter pitch is conspicuously light on substantive details, much of it being couched in terms of speculation about features they might like to include. Either of those would be concerning on its own; add to that the Foglios’ poor track record in digital publishing, including one badly bungled video game Kickstarter in the past, and, well, I’m not getting my hopes up!)
