I can't believe this is a hot take but like...Audra Winter's marketing wasn't good at all. I can't believe the amount of people glazing her marketing like it was so amazing.
Like no she made shitty videos that sometimes got picked up by the algorithm. And when that stopped happening, she cried at the camera for multiple videos complaining that she wasn't going viral and begging for interaction.
I feel like we've come almost full circle on the internet now where everyone's just super comfortable being incredibly mean to everyone else all the time.
Like yeah the anonymity of the internet has always brought out trolls and the worst in some of us. But for a while it felt like a lot of us were making a consciousness effort to be less reactionary, more understanding, and to stay out of a situation we know nothing about.
But this is all going away for the sake of a culture where we react first, ask questions later, attack people for no reason, and actively invite dogpiling culture on random people just for not passing the vibe check.
And holy fucking shit its ruining fandom. Especially after covid lockdown got every person who bullied you for nerd shit in high school more into fandom than ever. And they all invaded our spaces only to start going "omg why are you guys so cringe?"
But seriously everything that was already bad and toxic about fandom has only gotten exponentially worse recently. I am more and more scared of sharing creations because of how fucking mean people are for no reason.
Before I stopped making gifs nearly every day, I was getting more and more comments and tags with the most needless criticisms that aren't remotely constructive and only serve to hurt the creator's feelings. Why even reblog it at that point?
So like the Genshin lore community has been connecting Sal Vindagnyr to Khaenri'ah for years based just on the name alone, because the name is cobbled together from Norse words, and Khaenri'ah takes Norse inspiration.
Yet, I had someone relentlessly arguing with me in a comment section yesterday insisting that there's "no evidence" to connect Sal Vindagnyr to Khaenri'ah and that they can't be connected because "everyone in Sal vind died"
No evidence?
Aside from the NORSE INSPIRED NAME
How about the Scribe's Box that specifically mentions how they've heard of people seeking to create a nation with no gods?
How about the fact that Sal Vind had a special silver Irminsul-like tree that was destroyed by the celestial nail (and later revived by Durin’s blood) and how the lore community has always assumed special ties between Khaenri'ahns and Irminsul. Irminsul is named after the norse cosmos tree Yggdrasil!!!! Plus Dainsleif is the fucking BOUGH KEEPER! LIKE THE BRANCH OF A TREE!
How about the fact that there are ruins in Sumeru that are the same architecture style as Sal Vind, and they are called "Ruins of Dahri," which is an ancient term for Khaenri'ahns used by scholars in the Vahumana darshan?????
Also yeah everyone on the mountain who was near the impact zone of the celestial nail died either during the fall or the aftermath when the mountain froze over, but again those ruins are places besides that mountain. The Pre-Thunderbird Tsurumi civilization has the same ruins and the frescos are the same style. Celestial nails fell in both places. Sal Vindagnyr was probably a capital city of a larger civilization.
NO EVIDENCE MY ASS!!! lmao some people are SO FUCKING COOKED dude.
Let me go on and bring MEN OF LITHIN into this
The tsurumi murals, if translated, talk about the false sky and contain an old poem about the moons, and have a strong implication that this civilization wasn't super chill with Celestia. As far as I'm concerned, the sky island in those murals isn't Celestia, because it looks more like the map icon for the Ancient Sacred Mountain in Natlan.
Plus look at this panel from the manga and a floating island that looks suspiciously different from Celestia and has DRAGONS around it!!!
The figure offering the humans power in the dragonspine murals is probably fucking Kukulkan, and this all has something to do with the implications of Men of Lithin.
Men of Lithin WANTED you to make a connection to Khaenri'ah, because when they are describing the advanced tech these people have been blessed with, agricultural machines are specifically mentioned. And this is because they want you to remember when Dainsleif told us that the Khaenri’ahn name for Ruin Guards was Field Tillers.
"That aureate fluid is "lithin," the lifeblood of human civilization. Since The Technocracy first discovered it 100 years ago, it has been the source of countless innovations, leading humanity into a new era. Automated tilling machines revolutionized farming, more than sextupling agricultural yields, while airborne shuttles soared into the sky, connecting the once-isolated cities dotting the continent."
Not to mention how the Sal Vind/Dahri ruins have circular shaped doors just like the dragon civilization ruins. This may be a small detail but it matters to me lol.
Both of the people who have really come after me with relentless arguing about my theory regarding Dainsleif using powers from the moon rather than the abyss have been really hung up on the idea that "The moons are no different from Celestia and they're still gods and Khaenri'ah hates all of the gods" they just really want to insist the moons and Celestia are all the same to Khaenri'ah, despite dragon moons now being confirmed.
And I think this is just a blatant misunderstanding of the game's Gnostic theming because the original heavenly order is different from the "demonic gods" of Celestia who have stolen that power.
And there's no evidence yet that suggests Khaenri'ahns would view the moons as no different from Celestia. Hell the Crimson Moon dynasty of Khaenri'ah WORSHIPED A MOON!
The Khaenri’ahns are descended from the first seelie and the youth from Hyperborea and the seelie have strong connections to the moons.
Like if anything it makes more sense for Dain to be using something similar to whatever exists in Nod Krai - whatever is used by the Frostmoon Scions, the Lightkeepers, and whatever powers the moon wheels. It's a power that's not from Celestia that can cleanse the abyss. It's literally perfect for him.
Extensive evidence exists within Genshin's own lore as well as the Norse mythology that Rerir comes from that use of the word Rächer/avenger instead of hunter in certain languages is probably intentional. In the Volsunga Saga, Rerir is a character who avenges his father's death. We also know Solnari is literally just another name for one of the moon sisters. It comes from the Nod Krai teaser, where Alice is holding a paper that says 'Aralos, Solnari, Canon.'
So these are almost certainly alternative names for the moon sisters, Aria, Sonnet, and Canon. Something people will still doubt because "It's not confirmed." I don't know how people are still doubting this just because we lack official confirmation. One of the names doesn't even change. It's just...you don't need the game to exposition this to you to believe in it. It's just there.
Meanwhile, Genshin fans will still find a way to be like "Nope, Rächer of Solnari doesn't mean anything and it should just be moon hunter in english, too. localization team made it all up."
They will just...actively ignore lore that backs up the translation just for the sake of trashing the localizations based on their own preconceived notions.
So much of Hugo Vlad's character references other Jun Fukuyama roles I swear they'd have him voice Hugo in all four voiceovers if they could have???
There was the girl in Von Lycaon's quest that got involved with the fake Mockingbird, and she liked to LARP and whatever the hell she was calling herself was intended to sound similar to "Lelouch Lamperouge"
Hugo and his sister Serena share so many similarities with Lelouch and Nunally, only Serena actually died.
Hugo also has this whole thing going on where he is like "I'll turn myself into the villain everyone can unite against" thing Lelouch had.
But then there's also his EP being called "My curse, my fate" and Kassim from Magi's whole thing was cursing his fate and becoming a black djinn. Not only that, but Hugo's backstory is kind of like Alibaba and Kassim's fused into one in some ways.
And THEN there is the fact that one of the boss materials you need to upgrade him is the Dullahan and...Jun voices freaking Shinra from Durarara who..WHO DATES A DULLAHAN!!
OH AND the briefcase that turns into a scythe can kind of work with Grell from Kuroshitsuji being a shinigami??
I've been thinking about this a lot since Ochkanatlan now but I am still thinking about how Apep's weekly boss fight and the heart of Oasis make so much more sense now that we know about the cores of Chu'ulel because Apep's heart of oasis is simply HER Core of Chu'ulel. Which is basically just a heart of consciousness that allows dragons to be very body agnostic and exist in whatever form they please.
JustPearlyThings, Tradwife culture, and especially the current US administration are setting feminism farther behind than Sabrina Carpenter's album cover ever will.
