There is absolutely no pressure. I write my posts because I’m passionate about the subjects, not because I expect payment. But for those wondering why I’m fundraising:
I am poor and disabled. My current wheelchair (a TiLite Aero Z) was measured improperly and is actively harming me. I was born with two rare, genetic disabilities—classical-like Ehlers-Danlos syndrome type 1 (which resulted in congenital hip dysplasia) and a progressive, childhood-onset generalized dystonia-plus syndrome that fewer than 50 people worldwide have been diagnosed with. Both conditions make walking extremely difficult, and I rely on my wheelchair daily.
Unfortunately, the way my current chair is set up causes my hips to dislocate and compresses nerves in my spine. Every time I use it, I end up in severe pain, and I’ve been told by my doctors I’m at real risk of developing cauda equina syndrome if I don’t get a properly fitted wheelchair soon.
While I do have health insurance, I’m responsible for a 30% coinsurance after meeting my deductible. I’ve already met the deductible, but my share for the wheelchair still comes to $2,500—an amount I simply cannot afford on my own, especially with how many other expenses I currently have.

Also, I know many on here are struggling financially themselves, so please don’t feel bad if you can’t donate. I’d rather people prioritize their own needs if they don’t have the means to support others. Normally, I wouldn’t ask for donations at all, but unfortunately, I can’t really function without a wheelchair.
