i don't know, maybe it's just all these comic classes i'm taking slapping me in the ass or something, but i always have such A Great Idea and then i actually attempt to do it and make myself more and more upset the further i go into it because nothing ever turns out the way i want it to?? sometimes i like how i draw people. usually i don't. sometimes i like how i draw animals. usually i don't. i'm god awful at backgrounds, which is part of why i took this specific class, to get better, but everyone else in the class is lightyears ahead of me and during critique i feel like everyone is holding back because they don't want to hurt my feelings, and even on the rare occasion i AM happy with something it gets cut down.
i'd say maybe i'm just getting worked up over something that isn't even my major, but i often feel this way about stuff i do on my own time, too. it's not...skill level, it's literally the way i draw. it seems unappealing. i don't know what amalgamation of stuff influenced my style but it sure did make a fuckugly child.

Do a lot of Americans take advantage of Canadian diplomacy like that? This is by no means a personal attack against you. But it’s odd how citizens make a habit of abandoning patriotism once they’re actually OUT of the US.. haha
Oh I've never really been a patriot. I think a lot of established government structures are horrible, but the U.S. tends to be moreso. There's definitely problems with Canadian government/legal stuff as well but I could get so much better health care if I moved there I don't really care. I think everyone needs to be critical of the government, some say that's where patriotism truly is because you want what's best for your country but I really don't have much loyalty to the United States as a country because it was built on genocide, which hell most countries built by European colonies are including Canada. The only reason I stay in the U.S. and not feel oppressed by the government elsewhere is because my family is here.
But yeah, a lot of people from the U.S. go to Canada for random "Canada is kinda awesome" times including free health care and random goods the U.S. doesn't have. Especially people who live along the border.
TRN scared me too! And what about seeing the ghostly lights outside the window? For a few years I was so afraid of walking in the sleeper car because i was scared of triggering it.
