Rae Thorne is a 22 year old who lives in West Rockford and is currently unemployed.
Date of Birth: April 16th
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Biography:
Rae Thorne was the youngest of five kids. She fit the role as baby of the family well. Her parents were lenient on things they harped on her siblings about and she would wear a smile proudly. While the Thorne family was not without their problems overall she had a great upbringing. Her family was supportive and her parents never short of showing love. Her siblings all had success in some sort of way which the young girl admired. Yet, the older she got the more that adoration turned into stressful standards.
It all started in high school with college in her sights. Just a couple pills a day to help her focus, to give her drive. Soon those pills turned into more, and when those didn’t seem to cut it she found something stronger. Her family noticed the changes. At first, they just coughed it up to hard work but as she began getting moody and her weight fluctuated they knew it wasn’t just a few nights of late studying causing it. Rae had become addicted to prescription meds. An intervention by her family was done and Rae found herself in a rehab center. Returning to school it all felt different. She was again the bright-eyed girl people knew and agreeing with her parents that it was best to stay local for college.
Everything was fine at first. While she would have liked to have the true college experience she did her best to live independently, talking her parents into letting her live nearby in an apartment. They agreed to it and so she found herself finally being on her own for the first time. She seemed to be on the path that they wanted, but as college progressed pass the gen-eds the realization that she didn’t seem to have a pointed direction like her siblings had flooded her every thought. History would then repeat herself as it all began with the same small pills.
Not living with her parents, and the expectancy of a busy schedule gave her the freedom she needed to hide any suspicions. While she had told herself this time she could control it, Rae was a fool. It all happened again except this time she dived into harder things. Soon classes became an afterthought and partying became her way of life. After completing three years of college she dropped out. In her mind, there was nothing the university could offer her.
While her parents have no idea she quit, Rae maintains the lie that is continuing school so she can use the money they have been providing her with to support her addictions that she is in denial of.
Personality:
Rae is wreckless fun. She lives her life on a high. Not just with the drugs but with what she participates in. She is fun-loving and always eager for an adventure. When it comes to being her friend she is loyal and loving. She’ll do anything for you despite all her flaws her loyalty is the best thing about her. But as fun as she can be, her addictions and undiagnosed manic depression causes a lot of issues. She’s unstable and forgetful. As much as she make you smile she can also be hard to handle.
I usually don't root for any couples, but I'm kind of a sucker for Rae and Oliver... even if they already hit a snag
You know, I’m rooting for them too because the more involved they become the uglier the ending will be. And everyone knows I always like my tragic endings.
