The things that were once scandals are now the new normal. Partly driven by fear of terrorism and partly due to the politics of sexual distraction. Plus Obama was (slightly) better that Bush and certainly better than Trump will ever be.

My point is, being unwilling to criticise the heinous things a presidency has done because “hey, at least it’s not Bush/Trump!” to the point of sanitization and the painting of Obama as an angel who was too good for this country is

The exact wrong way to go about it. Believe you me. Obama’s administration was better than Bush’s, will be heckuva lot better than Trump’s will be, and Obama’s administration has received a ton of fucking bullshit from the GOPs and wider America on bigoted grounds, but he’s no adorable saint like I’m seeing my dash paint him.

All I’m saying is just to apply a critical eye to everything, especially in the realms of politics
