#rainbow knitting

Current WIP: making myself a very very queer rainbow blanket!🌈🥰

I am obsessed.

I am knitting all of the time.

I am giving myself carpal tunnel.

I do not care.

I must knit myself a soft cosy rainbow.

This pretty much started when I saw this yarn:

I HAD TO MAKE SOMETHNG WITH IT!😍🌈

And after my Mt. Everest of knitting that was the King Salmon sweater (will post about that saga soon😅). I was convinced that I could complete a blanket, which meant that I could order TWO of these glorious cakes of happiness.

It has‘t even been a full month, and I am already 25% done…

I have knitted about 1 kilometer of yarn!🤯

Finished the rainbow shift baby blanket! It’s made from leftover yarn of the hue shift afghan I made recently. Had about 66g of each color left, used about 34g of each to make the blanket. So there’s enough for another! Mwhahahahaha!

Temperature Blanket time! A little over a year ago my youngest nibbling was born. During a random conversation with my sister, she asked if I had ever knit a temperature blanket. I hadn’t. I’ve always wanted to. Skip to an epiphany a couple weeks later—I realized I should knit a blanket for my new nibbling for the first year of their life! The blanket is 36.5 inches across and each row represents the temperature for each day of the year. They live in a very moderate climate so it was fun to calculate the range of colors. I was aiming for ROY G BIV but had to add an eighth color due to the extreme temps.

Yes, I will be knitting Miss Marple a blanket of her own; she did not want to give this one up.

Making another baggy. This one is going to my aunt. She loves a tote.

Finished the rainbow shift zig zag socks. Am stoked that the second sock color change was consistent throughout - yarn is funny. One ball changed through rainbow evenly and the other suddenly stayed blue/green/purple. Yay for asymmetrical socks!

Project Completed!

This is my second time knitting a Market Bag by Vicki Square. The net pattern is good, but the top of the bag and the handle roll. The basket weave just doesn't stay straight. I'm going to try and iron it flat on low and hopefully that will help.

Update: heel flap and gusset went well- and now continuing the foot. I love knitting.
