everybody was feeling the #rainbowrollspo at the Andy Warhol show at the Whitney. :) I wasn't expecting this art (much of which is so over-reproduced it's hard to see with fresh eyes) to feel like a revelation, but it did! especially seeing the screenprints close up, their scale and their wacky messiness are both impressive and there is lots of textural/relief stuff going on that 100% does not show up in the reproductions. 'tis I, the person staring so closely at the prints with my mouth agape that the security guard comes over to tell me to back off... oops. also, intense to remember that everything about this process was toxic as heck in the 1960s! these sunsets (& many more) were commissioned by an architect to go in all the rooms of one of their hotels. :D https://www.instagram.com/p/BuCnx0EnOZB/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=eouq8ftbkbkx
