Hi! Can I request a headcanon for Neji, Shikamaru with their s/o who's shy but always craves affections ?

hello! that sounds adorable <3 and this was a long time coming :,)

neji

neji was used to shyness, thanks to dealing with his painfully shy cousin hinata

while he held no such affections for her, his s/o caught him off-guard; they were endearing to him despite their shyness because they also communicated what they needed

not necessarily or always verbally, but they were adept at getting their message across to him

and he quickly became addicted to the feeling of openness and vulnerability that his s/o showed him and therefore made it easier for him to reciprocate

their dates mostly consisted of private picnics, and late night dinners in nature's seclusion where neji would provide cuddles and affectionate words only for his s/o's ears

shikamaru

shikamaru was lazy. there was no denying that

that also added to his cut-to-the-chase nature when it came to non-hostile situations where he needed to come up with elaborate plans to get his job done

so, while he could be rather blunt, he was surprised despite himself that he fell for someone so. damn. shy!

but in a good way of course! he would never admit it out loud, but he kinda found his s/o's tendencies to be adorable

it also came as a pleasant suprise that his s/o was a needy kind of shy

that meant, it fell onto shikamaru to initiate most things in their relationship, which wasn't too hard because he was good at reading people, but it sometimes clashed with his low-energy bar

however, it only made it more special when his s/o initiated a hug or a little kiss, because shikamaru knew how shy they were

ASL Reaction HCs to Shy & Chubby Bullied Crush 

Ace

- the second he hears any snarky comment aimed towards his crush he easily hops into murder mode

- “What was that, you ass wipe? Wanna come say that to my face?!”

- he’s a lil on fire at this point, bowed up and ready to fight, so (Name) usually has to pull him away and reassure that they’re fine and that fighting won’t solve this

- but he just can’t believe it! how could they let people make such rude comments about them? he’ll huff in defeat and disbelief, but return to his normal self once they smile up at him

- he’ll be a bit harsh when confronting them about it, but it’s only because he really cares about them; he can’t be around them all the time (though he wishes he could) so he just needs to reassure himself that they’ll be safe 

- “You’ve gotta learn to fight for yourself, (Name)! What will happen to you if I’m not around?”

- he’ll take it upon himself to train them, and this may or may not be just an excuse to spend more time together

- whether they accurately learn to defend themselves or not, Ace remains in protection mode when they are out on adventures

- he just wishes his crush would let him kick somebody’s ass just once for them, so maybe they’d get the hint that he believes they’re worth fighting for

- aka help them realize that he’s got a big ol crush on them!

Sabo

- much like Ace, once he hears harsh comments aimed towards his crush he’s ready to beat some faces in

- unlike Ace, he recognizes how shy and timid his crush is, so he chooses to not bring any attention to them, knowing it would only further fluster them

- though, Sabo really wishes he could tear the idiot in two for ever daring to say such rude things about his wonderful crush

- if his crush had heard the comment, he’ll grab their hand (in a friendly way of course) and offer them a reassuring smile

- “Just ignore them, (Name). Insolent people like them don’t deserve your time.”

- then he’ll try to distract them with a joke or a story while they continue on their adventure; he won’t mention a single thing about the incident if they don’t either

- if his crush didn’t hear, he’ll simply turn to the culprit and give them the good ol’ Sabo crazy eyes, silently assuring that he will obliterate them for ever making fun of (Name)

- he may or may not sneak off to find that jerk and teach them a lesson when (Name) is distracted

- Sabo is always on watch when out on adventures, making sure to keep (Name) away from particularly rude people as he finds them absolutely precious and completely undeserving of any offensive comments made towards them

- he’s hoping he’ll get the courage to one day tell them how absolutely stunning he believes they are; that anyone is a fool to not recognize their beauty

Luffy

- the biggest sin anyone could ever commit is saying something rude about someone Luffy cares about, which of course makes his crush no exception

- yet when someone makes a snide comment towards his crush….he really has no idea

- much like when someone insults his friends, he somehow takes what the person is saying as a compliment

- “I know right! Their legs are awesome, they’re so big and strong! ” // “Yeah, their tummy is really soft, I like to lay my head on it when I nap!" 

- he’ll do his signature shishishi chuckle out of how proud he is to have such a wonderful crush and for them to be praised by other people too! he really fell for the right person

- his crush will always blush heavily, and though they know that those people were actually making fun of them, their captain’s ignorance on that matter always makes them feel better about themselves

- he could never understand why anyone would make fun of their eating habits, as that is one of the reasons Luffy fell for them in the first place! he’s never ashamed of a person who loves food as much as him 

- the rare times when somebody says something rude enough to make them visibly upset, Luffy goes into protecc mode

- he makes no hesitation in kicking some ass, reminding the person that they do not get to hurt his friends, especially his sweet, undeserving crush

- Luffy will make his crush feel better by instantly wrapping himself around them afterwards, hugging them tightly and refusing to let go until they feel better!
