Not to play favorites, but… Goldie and Ruth are totally my favorites.

Time for fish!

Sorry they're blurry and/or full of bad reflections but you're getting what I decide you get.

Mom and dad look like standard german blues but obviously there's golden ram genes floating around in their fish stew.

Baby time!

Big Chungus and one of his smaller, unnamed siblings.

Goldie and blurry mom Harriet.

More blurry but you can see how their colors change in certain light. That's Harriet, who's a dull beige color half the time.

4 out of 7 babies are still too young to show color, so it'll be fun seeing how they turn out, since their three larger siblings all look different from each other and their parents.

Harriet's about to lay eggs again. She's like clockwork.

Big Chungus who is very shy!

The otherrrerrr 4 babies? Will get names when they're large enough to be distinguishable. Currently they're all tiny and vaguely grey and various levels of stripey.

The fish in the middle is Big Chungus whose colors have come in and is also.... nearly as big as his mom? Those are the parents up top. The one in the back towards the bottom is Goldie, because I am very creative in naming things. Likely to be a golden ram. The other four are generic grey ones with varying levels of colors and stripes. Idk how I'll name them if I can't tell them apart. 😆

Some of the babies are nearly full grown. The fish at the top are the parents, the rest are babbies.

So we had eggs again

Sorry, we refuse to take good pictures but that white spot in the dip of the wood is the eggs. Hopefully they will be eaten because I don't need more fish.

But.

The cichlids also like to dig bowls in the sand for some reason, and today there was some sort of.... egg-shaped object in it.

Not an egg. But it fits in the nest. Maybe that baby fish lost its ball.
