I need more fanfics where Cody and Obi-Wan are not normal about each other, and I don't mean that in a Anakin and Padme way alright?

I want them both to be completely aware of their feelings for each other, they are adults (tm) and know how to deal with their emotions in a professional settings okay? They're not normal about each other in every other way tho, which means that they are both in desperate need for enrichment and provide it for one another by for example challenging or simply insulting each other in increasingly ridiculous ways. They hold hands, they break each other's noses, they are both so very neurodivergent and see the most bizarre things as a way to show affection or delight.

Obi-Wan is delighted by Cody simply ignoring his dramatics (almost like a cat would be), and is increasing his ridiculousness by the hour to get a reaction. Prime feral time and enrichment for him.

Cody in turn gets a kick out of ignoring or straight up insulting him. Almost a power dynamic swap and yet none of them ever seems to really care about it. Cody also likes the closeness Obi-Wan very casually gifts him (especially holding hands). It's almost like two Cats getting to know and love each other only both cats think that they are the one who is actually the human person in this relationship lol.

Not to say "stop having fun with media" or "stop being hopeful" but i think a lot of us would probably be better served by maintaining an air of cynicism regarding the potential transfem characterization or thematic messaging of characters in new popular media made by non-transfem creators.

I've seen this happen many times, where a character in a piece of media that quickly becomes popular is written in such a way where it is very easy to read them as transfem, and in some cases its more logical than other interpretations. But outside of characters actually written by transfems themselves, a confirmation of their trans-femininity almost never happens, and, at best, their potential transness is left ambiguous till the end.

The reasons for this phenomenon are varied, but its reductive (and I think naive) to assume that its just out of simplistic, TERF style transmisogyny or something. Many people that in the political, material sense, not only have no opposition to transfems but in fact support us against are actual adversaries, people that would otherwise be considered "good allies" in most regards, have no real interest in the interiority of transfem people. Not out of malevolence or explicit bigotry, but usually out of a combination of implicit biases, and their own lack of stake in the matter. Transfem people, are to a lot of our ostensible allies, an oppressed minority, yes, but also a tiny, totally distinct and ultimately peripheral one. One who can maybe be a lesson to others about gender and the value of protecting the rights of those different than us, but never through the lens of actually seeing themselves in our shoes, actually being interested in our experiences as women outside of just being "transness personified".

This view is not incompatible with thinking that transfem people are unjustly oppressed, desiring to materially support transfem people, or even being a political advocate for transfem people, although it certainly can affect the efficacy of these actions, and can to some extant call into question the sincerity of these positions.

I think its ultimately just a recipe for disappointment to assume that a non-transfem creator is actually going to create a subtly transfem protagonist, especially one whose transfeminity is revealed through interpreting their interiority and internal conflicts. Most people, allies included, that are not transfem, do not think of transfem people as complex human beings whose transness is characterized by the same internal conflicts that exist within the collective human experience. They don't write these stories thinking "ah this might be relatable to the internal experiences of being transfem" because they don't conceive of the unique internal experiences of being transfem as something that even could be relatable.

I think in a lot cases, they actually think this position is them being better allies! Because otherwise they would be assuming they could actually know what we feel or something, that to write a story with a transfem protagonist would be presumptive because we are "fundamentally different" and to write a story with a transfem character whose interiority is explored would mean it had to be a story about transfeminity made by someone who wasn't transfem. We are too fundamentally different to tell a story about, without it being a story that is about how different we are.

I don't like this fact, I think its very unfortunate. But I also think, its generally a pretty safe assumption to make about non-transfem creators. Better than getting constantly heartbroken by those creators constantly failing to meet the assumption that they'd actually understand us.

A little ramble about when you're too hyper or fidgety and its distracting/stressing you out more in the moment.

something I'm learning about myself as a confirmed adhd lad is that there are gonna be moments where you think you aren't having a too hyper, fidgety, or anxious moment- but all signs are showing that you might be.

How do I know? 20 minutes ago my body felt like it was twitching out of control and tense at the same time. I've been worried about my homework all week and the fact that I can't seem to get myself to do it even when I need to. I grabbed my weighted blanket thinking it'll prove I'm not anxious and you know what happened? I stopped twitching. I calmed down and relaxed more than I have in the last couple of hours.

So if you're feeling too hyperactive, anxious, fidgety, or whatever- find something to weigh you down and bring you back. Something like that helps in these moments where we aren't sure what is happening but know something is. Take care of yourself out there. Punishing your body isn't going to help you in the long run.

Also if you're wondering why I'm talking more about adhd than anxiety; its because my adhd is causing me stress, and now it's triggering my anxiety. This is just my experience. Plus, a situation like this (am really fidgety ---> distracts and or distresses me ---> grab weighted blanket or something to ground me ---> is calmed by it) has happened multiple times in the past.
