How often do Auric and Grimm spend time with Vesla? And what do they usually do (in terms of what activities does Vesla like to do with Auric or Grimm) together? I mean, there’s not much to do in the way of travel since she’s, Y’know, rooted to the ground and all.

Alright, so I've explained it a couple times before, might have been a while back so I'll briefly explain it again. Vesla isn't permanently rooted to the ground. She roots herself in her chambers (a room separate from the room she shares with Auric) for usually around a month, to soak up nutrients and such. Once she's finished, she can leave her chambers and walk (or would it be more of a slither?) around as she pleases for up to two months before she must rest again.

Starting with Grimm, he is generally very preoccupied with travelling, but every time he is in the Hallownest area, he tries to make a visit to the White Palace. His main goal is to see Auric, but considering how Auri pointedly avoids him and/or is a total douche until he leaves, Grimm often ends up hanging with Ves for a few hours. If he catches her at a time in which she's mobile, the two will sometimes walk around the Palace and chat (usually with Dryya tagging along and eyeing Grimm suspiciously the entire time). If she's rooted, he will sit with her and have a nice chat with her about this or that. The two of them mostly spend their time together talking. Vesla especially is excited to hear what Grimm has to say since he's such an avid traveller. She loves to hear about the places he's been and the people he's met. Besides just talking, the two have chilled in the Palace Hot Spring together, and Vesla has even brought Grimm to see the Queen's Gardens quite a few times (she loves them so, and wants him to see how she's cultivated them). Dryya, of course, tags along any time they go anywhere, lmao.

Auric and Vesla's activities together were (keyword: were) very similar to how she spends time with Grimm. They would talk a lot (Auric is a real talker when he's actually interested in the conversation), and she would ask Auric to tell her stories of the places he'd been as a Wyrm (despite being capable of travel, she's not very efficient at it and usually just sort of stays where she is). He would care for her when she rooted, as well, talking to her and visiting her to pour water and fertiliser into her soil. They used to also bathe together quite often, pruning and caring for one another. Most importantly to Vesla, Auric would accompany her to the Queen's Gardens once a year for the New Life Celebration at the spring equinox (to care for her during her mating cycle). They were an inseparable husband and wife team for a while after they were first wed, but as time went on, Auric started drifting away from her. He started locking himself in his meth lab Workshop and not coming out for days. He started brushing off her worries and getting aggressive with her if she pressed. He stopped bathing with her (and altogether honestly, she has to fight tooth and nail to get him into the Hot Spring). He even stopped accompanying her to her Gardens or visiting her in her chambers when she is rooted, justifying it with " 'M busy" and nothing more. Perhaps the hardest thing for her was regarding their children. Ever since they were wed, she wanted to be a mother. More than anything, she wanted to care for and nurture babies of her own. Auric refused her children (he is a huge tokophobe and also never wanted to be a father). And, well, when he finally gave in and allowed her children, he kind of chucked them into a hole. Husband of the year award, everybody. /s In current time (when the main AU fic I want to write eventually starts), he has not spoken to her or seen her in two months. Dryya has taken up all of his duties in caring for her (Dryya waters her, spends time with her, accompanies her to her Gardens during her mating cycle), and Ves has been rooted for an unnaturally long time. Essentially, their Union is on thin ice.

Are there any Blue Exorcist characters you dislike? Or ships that you hate?

Absolutely to both. There are five characters [six if we're including anime original characters. Three guesses who that extra is (>▽<) ]

Most of the characters I dislike rub me the wrong way for personal reasons or they're too much like assholes I actually know/knew, and I typically avoid writing them when I can because I don't want them to come across bashed and I know a lot of people who really enjoy those characters.

Same with the ships. Some ships I just don't get the chemistry/appeal in, and some are with characters that don't interest me. I will occasionally give a ship a try if it's written by an author I know/like, but mostly I just look for the stuff that interest me and ignore the stuff that doesn't.

Hi Anon! Wow a sims question! I don’t tend to make families straight out of cas, that being said, most of my families are huge generational ones. I can’t resist making families for my straight out of cas founder sims either. Jay Fields in my game started out as a single sim and now he has parents, 2 brothers and a sister, 7 nieces and nephews, 6 kids (not all biological), and 5 grandkids!

Another one of my families, the Brick family, is made up of 3 siblings and their partners, their kids and grandkids, and in 2 of the houses, there are 3 generations under 1 roof.

But I’m also in the minority that actually enjoys having single sims, and sims who never have children

I really like this question! I wanted to answer it as soon as I got it so sorry to the late reply.

I cant find a super comprehensive list of backgrounds (theres some on the Shining Live Wikia but its missing lots) so I can’t say for sure without missing some, but I’ll go off a mix of the ones on the wikia and the ones I have unlocked.

The one I use on EN is ‘Shining Live Stage’ that you get at the start of the game. Honestly I use it because it looks good with Ai’s Dancing with Stars costume.

I do really like both versions of the Christmas Wallpaper, but it doesn’t really go all year round ya know? I feel like I usually prefer lighter coloured backgrounds (gotta love me some pastels) like Park and City Street A, but my intense marine aesthetic makes me love ‘Beach Bar’ from the beach set and I’ve also really found myself liking the night versions (City Street A (Night) and Christmas Plaza (night).) Of the ones I have unlocked on EN, I do think the beach one is probably my favourite, but I’m sure I’m missing some great ones. 

I really love the background for Autumn Memories Ren as well actually. Damn. I take it back, the Autumn Memories background is my favourite. I literally just bought it on JP because of this oops. 

Aaa, TLDR: I’m not sure but I love the Autumn Memories and Beach backgrounds.

Sorry for the random question, but would any of you consider maladaptive daydreaming a mental illness?

Well, usually it comes as part of something else - I have it because of my OCD and BPD (although it seems to act up most when my disassociative problems or depression are really bad, but I'll leave it to the professionals to decide what causes what). That said, I know what it can do to me when it's bad, and I'd consider it a mental illness even on its own, provided it was having similar levels of impact on someone - that said, it wouldn't even be classed as maladaptive daydreaming (or compulsive fantasy as it's also called) if it wasn't, well, maladaptive and thus having a negative impact on someone's quality of live, it'd just be daydreaming. For me, I can zone out for hours or days at a time and just lie in one position - I've gotten bed sores because of it in the past, I don't eat or drink in those states, I miss any appointments or social events, it's not healthy at all. So yeah, if someone was going through that then I'd most definitely class it as a mental illness.

And I think, for me, one of the most obvious examples of how it's an illness, rather than just a lot of daydreaming, is how the individual can't pull themselves out of it - it may be incredibly hard or even impossible for someone with maladaptive daydreaming to get out of the daydream and focus on reality, and if they do manage it then the daydream will often stay in the back of their mind. With normal daydreaming, if a fire alarm goes off then you're going to be able to prioritize your physical safety over the daydream, but with maladaptive daydream that's not a certainty. You may either prioritize the daydream and decide to stay in it, or you may not notice it, or you may simply not be able to pull yourself out however much you try. It's worth stressing that, again, mine also comes with dissociative disorders and depression and stuff, so someone might have maladaptive daydreaming without experiencing some of the symptoms that I experience or to the same degree.

Does Auri Have any other hobbies besides working in his workshop? I could see someone royal like him having a mild interest in art, perhaps.

Yes! Well, he used to. In current day, he is much too busy and/or consumed by his Void experiments as well as general royal duties to engage in most hobbies.

However, once upon a time, he was a talented violin player. He learned to play while he lived with Grimm for a time and, for their 50th anniversary, Grimm gifted him an ivory violin. They used to play music together, and he was very passionate about it for a time. He was (and probably still is) an incredibly skilled player. He even wrote a lot of music himself. However, after his and Grimm's separation, he packed the violin away in a box and hasn't played for a very long time. Thinking about playing again brings up memories that he refuses to sort through. Other than than the violin, work, and his Void obsession, he doesn't really partake in many hobbies. As for art, I could see him really liking and appreciating quality art and taking an interest in it (especially in terms of art's cultural value). After all, Lurien is a very close friend of his and Auric loves his paintings. He doesn't really sketch, draw, or paint himself, but likes art in general.

I may have forgotten, but has the void auric’s experimenting on had any adverse effects on him? Apart from the blackened hands, there doesn’t seem to be any sort of poisoning or enhancing going on. Oh, and i do wonder what he’s trying to do or make?

Oh, well, yes actually! I've tried to be sort of vague about it, but working so closely with Void has had some adverse effects on him. If you've seen my artwork of Auri's freaky mouth, you can see that his tongue and the insides of his mouth are black/grey. Working on his experiments recklessly has resulted in his blood/organs/insides all progressively turning black. He also pukes up black goo on occasion, but insists that everything is totally fine and that it's no big deal (though it is, lmao). It's a pretty important plot point, that the Void taint/poisoning runs deeper than just the surface. So important that it's why my blog is titled "Taint of Void", haha.

As for what he's generally trying to do and make, most of his experiments have to do with reconstructing his soldiers. He spends a lot of time alone, building Wingmoulds and Kingsmoulds. He's obsessed with improving their designs, repeatedly dismantling them and then putting them back together again. This is all in service of making tweaks that "improve their functionality", though most of the problems he spots and feels the compulsion to fix are miniscule or sometimes even imaginary. Besides just the construction of his servants, he enjoys studying the effect Void has on other things. He'll mix it with different things to see how it acts a lot of the time, jotting his observations down obsessively in his journal (which is definitely full of the worst handwriting you have ever seen, mf's handwriting is like a Russian doctor's cursive). In truth, most of his experiments are inane or inconsequential to most other sensible people (Grimm and Vesla in particular are worried and frustrated by them), but he sees importance in his work and is hyper-fixated on it. Hell, it could be considered a special interest of his.
