Sorry for shooting you yet another Vesla question, but what does she tend to do other than what she already does (or tries to do :>) with Auric and Grimm? Does she tend to her gardens? Does she like wandering around the royal palace?

No problem! I will take questions about whatever all day. :] /pos

And yes, Vesla likes to visit her Gardens as much as possible. She has put her heart and soul into cultivating them, and just being there boosts her mood. She also enjoys bringing others along with her to marvel at its beauty. Other than that, she likes to wander the Palace and chat with whoever will give her the time of day. She finds herself in many long conversations with the Great Knights. Dryya, of course, follows her, protects her, and even just spends time with her throughout the day. Idk, they're very sweet girlfriends and I just love thinking about how wholesome they are.

Besides general activities like those, she would occasionally visit Hollow too, when they were young and presumed to be pure. She didn't see them often, as they would often be training or at Auric's side. When she did manage to visit them, she would dote on them and sometimes accompany them to the Hot Spring for baths. :]

How often do Auric and Grimm spend time with Vesla? And what do they usually do (in terms of what activities does Vesla like to do with Auric or Grimm) together? I mean, there’s not much to do in the way of travel since she’s, Y’know, rooted to the ground and all.

Alright, so I've explained it a couple times before, might have been a while back so I'll briefly explain it again. Vesla isn't permanently rooted to the ground. She roots herself in her chambers (a room separate from the room she shares with Auric) for usually around a month, to soak up nutrients and such. Once she's finished, she can leave her chambers and walk (or would it be more of a slither?) around as she pleases for up to two months before she must rest again.

Starting with Grimm, he is generally very preoccupied with travelling, but every time he is in the Hallownest area, he tries to make a visit to the White Palace. His main goal is to see Auric, but considering how Auri pointedly avoids him and/or is a total douche until he leaves, Grimm often ends up hanging with Ves for a few hours. If he catches her at a time in which she's mobile, the two will sometimes walk around the Palace and chat (usually with Dryya tagging along and eyeing Grimm suspiciously the entire time). If she's rooted, he will sit with her and have a nice chat with her about this or that. The two of them mostly spend their time together talking. Vesla especially is excited to hear what Grimm has to say since he's such an avid traveller. She loves to hear about the places he's been and the people he's met. Besides just talking, the two have chilled in the Palace Hot Spring together, and Vesla has even brought Grimm to see the Queen's Gardens quite a few times (she loves them so, and wants him to see how she's cultivated them). Dryya, of course, tags along any time they go anywhere, lmao.

Auric and Vesla's activities together were (keyword: were) very similar to how she spends time with Grimm. They would talk a lot (Auric is a real talker when he's actually interested in the conversation), and she would ask Auric to tell her stories of the places he'd been as a Wyrm (despite being capable of travel, she's not very efficient at it and usually just sort of stays where she is). He would care for her when she rooted, as well, talking to her and visiting her to pour water and fertiliser into her soil. They used to also bathe together quite often, pruning and caring for one another. Most importantly to Vesla, Auric would accompany her to the Queen's Gardens once a year for the New Life Celebration at the spring equinox (to care for her during her mating cycle). They were an inseparable husband and wife team for a while after they were first wed, but as time went on, Auric started drifting away from her. He started locking himself in his meth lab Workshop and not coming out for days. He started brushing off her worries and getting aggressive with her if she pressed. He stopped bathing with her (and altogether honestly, she has to fight tooth and nail to get him into the Hot Spring). He even stopped accompanying her to her Gardens or visiting her in her chambers when she is rooted, justifying it with " 'M busy" and nothing more. Perhaps the hardest thing for her was regarding their children. Ever since they were wed, she wanted to be a mother. More than anything, she wanted to care for and nurture babies of her own. Auric refused her children (he is a huge tokophobe and also never wanted to be a father). And, well, when he finally gave in and allowed her children, he kind of chucked them into a hole. Husband of the year award, everybody. /s In current time (when the main AU fic I want to write eventually starts), he has not spoken to her or seen her in two months. Dryya has taken up all of his duties in caring for her (Dryya waters her, spends time with her, accompanies her to her Gardens during her mating cycle), and Ves has been rooted for an unnaturally long time. Essentially, their Union is on thin ice.

What food does vesla like? I just have a hunch that she might like making sweets or pies or something, maybe it’s just her personality? /gen

She is definitely the really motherly baking type personality-wise, but the only things that she is able to eat and drink are compost, fetiliser, and water. I've explained it before, but it was a long while back, so I'll touch on it again! :D Essentially, Vesla will root herself to the ground for on month at a time to absorb nutrients (fertiliser, water, etc.) and then will be able to walk around freely for up to two months. To do this, she has her own personal chambers separate from he royal bedchambers she shares with Auric. In her chambers, there is this sandbox-like hole in the floor filled with soil that she is able to root herself in. While she's rooted, either Dryya (mostly Dryya actually) or Auri will pour fertiliser and water into the soil to feed her. It's just a hole with dirt in it and I think it is very humourous. :>

I could see her baking a cake or some sweets for Auric (he really likes sweets), but she would never be able to taste them herself.

For character headcanon game, Vesla :3

Like her husband, I headcanon her as pansexual polyamorous. She and Auri actually have an open marriage and Vesla is in a happy relationship with Dryya. They are very cute girlfriends, okay? /pos As for gender, she is also intersex like Auri is, but despite the intersex characteristics (haha, male flower parts), she is very feminine and is a woman. Pretty lady. <3 As for ships I have with her: Vesla and Auric and Vesla and Dryya are the two main ones I like. As for BROTPs, I feel like she's pretty good friends with Herrah and Grimm respectively. I've talked about her and Grimm's friendship before, but they are besties and, if they had fingernails and hair, they would have a girls night and paint their nails and do each other's hair. (They would also kidnap Auri against his will and play dress up with him and do his makeup. <3) With Herrah, I think that they'd just be pretty decent friends and would enjoy chatting together about mom things. They may even smooch a little, who knows? As for NOTPs, I don't really have any ships I actively dislike regarding her, besides ships with her children and/or Hornet. Solid nope. <3 As for a random headcanon with her, one thing that comes to mind is her secondary chambers in the White Palace. So, she and Auric share one big bedroom simply called the "Royal Chambers", but Vesla has her own room separate from it. This room is where she goes when she needs to root herself into the ground to replenish energy. In the room, there is a big open sandbox-like hole in the floor with soil in it. She stays rooted in there for a month, during which Auric and Dryya will each come in and visit with her/water her and feed her fertiliser. After she has regained her energy, she stores extra nutrients in her roots for about two more months at a time before she just roots herself again. I just thing it's really funny that her chambers just consist of a hole with dirt in it. <3 Overall, I really like her as a character and I think she's pretty nice ro right about. Very pretty and kind lady.
