So Kique uploaded Page 812 and we see more info of Ranach's past. I don't know what to think of it...
After the Rhov and Feaf scene, we immediately get cut forward to the next day in Southspear Tribe, where we see Ranach watching Iberon sleep like Edward did to Bella in Twilight.
Then after Iberon notices Ranach watching him sleep and comments about it, he notices his Y-shaped scar on his face and asks about it.

He talks about how Rogio tended to his wounds after Arenak abused him, listened to his rants, silenced his mind when it became too much, and how "so, so fucking beautiful" he was.
This is the same relationship that Kique was trying to retcon as abusive on Ranach's side and paint Rogio as an innocent victim to his abuse, but here he is again, talking about how much Rogio did for Ranach. They had a consensual relationship, and so for Kique to constant claim Rogio was abused by Ranach, when both of them were toxic partners who ignored the females' suffering, is bullshit.
Then we discover how and why Arenak scarred him, because he hated same-sex relations and discovered him with Rogio.
Page 812.
Why would Ranach just make out with Rogio in an area where they'll be seen? Why is Ranach just allowing his father mark him? No one is holding him down or restraining him, or stopping him from getting away. Unless he is too scared of his father, he just lies there while his father hurts him, as if he's being restrained and pinned down by others. Why is he just whimpering as his face is getting cut open? Shouldn't he be yelping or screaming, unless he's so used to being hurt by him that he is somehow immune to pain (which would also be pretty fucked up)? Whimpering would be more like after the knife is out of him.
Also, the facial expressions of these dogs are always very few and not enough. This is supposed to be an intense or dramatic moment, yet the characters are drawn too realistic to display enough emotions. Ranach's facial expressions do not convey the pain he is in as his face is being cut at all. He looks more like he's cowering in fear than having his face cut open. And of course, Kique can't show Ranach whimpering, and he also can't show it alongside some onomatopoeia either. He has to write "(whimpering)". It's so lame.
And of course, people in the comment section are feeling sorry for Ranach, who has been established as a lying, manipulative, back-stabbing, sexist, raping, murderous bastard. Homophobia is awful, and having an abusive family is awful, and I would never wish any kind of injustice or violence upon anyone, even if they are a terrible person. But even if Ranach had a shitty childhood and upbringing, there is no excuse for the things he has done. I wouldn't be so harsh if Kique hasn't glorified his rapist character in the past. Its one thing to like a character for who they are as characters in the story, but its a completely different thing to say you would be Ranach's friend if he was a real person.
I don't know what Kique wants us to think of Ranach. Does he want us to hate him? Sympathize with him because "sad backstory"? Is he trying to make Ranach turn his life around by being in Southspear? Or does he want Ranach and Southspear to stay evil until the end of the comic? Which is it?
Ranach is such an inconsistent character, and such a one-dimensional villain, I don't even know what Kique wants his readers to think of him anymore.
Why this comic still has readers, I do not know.
