I just read this fantastic Knarlie fanfic on ao3 that’s given me the best rush of dopamine I’ve had in months 😫

Fuuuuckkk the writing was SO GOOD!! Kudos to the person who was brilliant enough to make it. There were little sprinkles of angst, a dash of fluff, and a whole lotta tears on my end.

Apropos of nothing, giving a reminder that you can browse on mobile without ads (at least on android*)**

To do this:

uninstall the tumblr app

grab your favorite Firefox fork (I use Waterfox and it's been nice, supposedly og Firefox has said it's going to backpedal with an easy off switch for the AI bullcrap but they haven't actually implemented that yet)

Open the browser -> Extensions -> Manage extensions -> Find add-ons -> add uBlock Origin

in the browser, go to www.tumblr.com and log back in

At that point it shouldn't have ads showing up on the dash. You can add the site as a pinned bookmark on the browser start screen for faster access. Doesn't fix the UI update though.

* last I checked iOS forces you to use safari under the hood regardless of which browser app you've got installed, and safari doesn't really have a plugin ecosystem, and thus no adblock

** I assume everyone knows how to use adblockers on desktop but it's a similar deal there
