I feel like this post might be getting too personal again, but since nobody actually can see me, this feels like a bit of a safer space to discuss all this. Anyways, I am one of the least hygienic people I know. It's not like I want to get sick (i'm not that messed up), but I just have so many unhygienic habits that I never tell anyone about. People are going to surely say: "It can't be that bad, can it?" To those who say that, I suppose I'm thankful for the reassurance. But let me showcase my unhygienic nature:
I bite my nails, for one thing. A lot. I inherited that from my dad. But I also have a low pain tolerance, and always bandage up my fingers. But I also bite my toenails. I know it's filthy to do, but I can't help it. My brain clearly just does it because it's habit, and because they're nails, just the same as the ones on my fingers. Also, toenail clippers now make me nervous. Putting a metal object near my feet... someone it now makes me more anxious then using my teeth. Yeah, I know I'm weird. But that's just the start.
You know how armpits sometimes smell? Yeah, well, I never actually hate that smell. It's a weird smell, but it's one I don't mind. So that's one more weird thing about me. I also don't mind some of the other smells from parts of the body. Like, the...sometimes you'll get weird smells from the body when you run your fingers through the area of the leg that connects to the genitalia. I'm not an expert in knowing what the stuff smells like, or what it all comes from. But it always seems to fascinate me.
So I am inherently a weird person. Doesn't help that I probably don't wash my hands nearly often enough. But I do brush my teeth regularly, and i've never had a cavity. In 19 years, I haven't had any real major health problems. No surgeries, no stitches, no nothing. And some of that is definitely luck, but some of it is probably my paranoia about getting hurt (since i know i have a ridiculously low pain tolerance). So i'm not suffering from my slightly unhygienic nature, but it still sometimes makes me think i'm weird.
