kdysi dávno (6-8 let zpátky) jsem měli bookstagram. dost velkej (nebo jako... na "vrcholu" mě sledovalo 800 lidí. ale na to, že to byl rok 2018 a bylo mi 15, to pro mě bylo vážně hodně). smazali jsem si ho docela "zničehonic", nebo aspoň navenek. občas na to pořád myslím, chybí mi ta komunita, co kolem knížek před těmi lety byla. ale když vidím tu "booktook komunitu" teď, vím, proč jsem odešli. neberte mě špatně, neskutečně mě bavilo číst, vytvářet fotky/koláže, potkávat vrstevníky, který taky milujou čtení. ale po těch dvou letech jsem cejtili hroznej tlak. ne že by na mě někdo byl zlej, to ne. ale víte co. byli jsem v bublině knižních tvůrců, z nichž velká část každý měsíc přidávala book hauly s xxx novými knihami; přičemž já byli děcko na základce/střední, který si nemohlo dovolit nový knihy, a připadali jsem si nedostatečně. wrap ups (shrnutí přečtených knih) spousty tvůrců čítaly deset a víc knih, což pro mě postupně začalo být nedosažitelný, a zase, připadali jsem si nedostateční, jako "malej čtenář". je to hloupost? ano, je. není nic jako "správnej" nebo "dost velkej čtenář." ale mozek děcka v pubertě, že. teď už nejsem v pubertě, ale vždycky, když mi na youtube nebo bůh ví kde vyjedou videa/sestřihy z "booktook komunity", mám pocit, že tohle všechno je ještě znásobený - všechno je tak strašně overconsuming - čti co nejvíc, kupuj co nejvíc, sežeň si ke každý knize matching lepící papírky a propisky, kupuj si knižní boxy!!! a přijde mi to vlastně hrozně smutný

This is a hill I'll die on. She's a perfect complex, morally grey character that in other TTRPG systems would work pretty well and would not be considered even slightly despicable, and/or pretty much excusable since her actions are never without reasoning. That's it, D&D makes Minthara "evil" because of shitty aligment system. I won't elaborate further.

Im in the mood for another rant against capitalism so here ya go

when we overthrew feudal lords and replaced them with democracy we didn't finish the job.

Cause back then feudal lords (and other undemocratic types of government) controlled everything - tax, military, foreign policy, laws, AND our jobs and homes.

When we replaced them with elected officials, we gave those elected officials power over tax, military, foreign policy, and laws. Which was great. The last 100 years have seen an unprecedented growth in civil liberties and all that. The last 50 or so has been the most peaceful in all of history.

BUT we sorta forgot about jobs and housing when we first made the switch to democracy which left a void taken over by capitalism.

And now we have next to no say in our employment or our housing. You can't speak out against your employer without repercussions. You cant negotiate your rent. You dont have a say in the decisions your company makes at the top.

And I think it's about time we changed that lol

We need to democratize the workplace and housing market.

I think every company should be run like a worker cooperative (see this other post on the what/why/how of a worker cooperative) and I think the government needs to heavily regulate the housing market.

something i love abt yoongi is the fact that he never set an ideal type, he always encouraged people to love themselves, he always circled all weighs and heighs and whatever criteria when asked about whats attractive to him, and i have so much respect for him for that. so when i hear he wants to diet or is counting calories to meet that "idol beauty criterium" i'm upset. he doesn't need a diet, he's beautiful inside and out just the way he is.

Hot take idc but I hate hate hate hate whenever we're having discussions about AI and how fast technology is advancing and someone points out some negative aspects of it and concerns for the future and they get immediately shut down with: "Oh but we have to focus on the positive!!!!! AI is revolutionizing the medical fields!!!!" or anything along the lines of "it has some positive impacts therefore we're not allowed to talk about the negative". I cannot stand when people do that. Idgaf if I'm sounding like a doomer, technology is a MAJOR aspect of our lives and therefore we need to be talking about the negative aspects and voice our concerns for the future generations BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE. Like, this isn't a "complaining for the sake of complaining" thing that's happening here, we're not criticizing like a home decoration tv show here, we're talking about the fucking future of humanity and worrying about the quality of life of our future children ffs

"It's not that deep" "it's not that big of a deal" yeah no I would actually argue it is deep. It is a fucking big deal.

And while we're at it, fuck this toxic positivity thing just in general
