Secondary Couple Syndrome: My Stats
Okay, so I've been thinking about this a lot. I almost always prefer secondary couples over the primary ones. Or at least I think I do. It's one reason I'm so shocked that I don't like LeonPob very much. Typically, I far prefer the secondary couple.
So I've decided to see if the stats add up!
According to MDL, I've watched 235 shows. Now, not all of these are BL and not all of them have secondary couples. So let's pull that figure out!
175 of those do not have a secondary BL couple. They may have a secondary het couple or a secondary GL couple or just none at all. But! No secondary couple, no secondary couple syndrome.
That leaves... 60 shows with secondary BL couples to see if I truly, regularly, prefer to secondary couples to the main ones.
And the final count for shows where I prefer the secondary couple is...
Not quite as high as I thought it might be but still!
That's a damn high percentage.
And that doesn't include anything on the air.
But yes. Second couple syndrome? DEFINITELY a thing for me. No denials, no doubts.
Most surprising things on the list:
I am probably the only person who doesn't get second couple syndrome with My Gear and Your Gown.
2gether is my strongest sense of second couple syndrome.
The only 'bromance' on this list is Guardian.
Some of these are very close but won in the end because of why I'd rewatch them.
I did not include any on-air shows but Bite Me would be here if I did.
I have never tried to do stats like this before. But here we are! Personal stats on my second couple syndrome, compiled for my own amusement instead of watching 7 Project because I don't want to be disappointed by the latest couple.
