TW: depictions of violence, general horror, Dead By Daylight
Here’s a little idea that popped into my head while I was at work the other day. It hasn’t been edited and I wrote this while not sober, so I’m really sorry if there are mistakes or something doesn’t make sense.

You had been a member of the Alpha Team of S.T.A.R.S. for about two months, yet you had already shown your captain, Albert Wesker, what you were capable of. In fact, you had been on your way back to the Raccoon City Police Department to report on your latest mission. You had heard whispers of your own captain being one of the people to create the Uroboros virus, and it didn’t exactly trouble you, but you did wonder if it was true. No matter what, you’d follow your captain, even if that meant he was releasing a virus on the world. You took your oath very seriously.
You had just moved to push the doors of the RPD open, when a dark fog tickled at your peripherals. You turned to get a better look and found yourself staring into blackness that soon consumed you. When you raised your head, you saw that you’re no longer in Raccoon City, let alone on the step of the RPD. You’re in a forest, and you could hear screams in the distance. There was some kind of generator nearby, two others working on it. One of them noticed you. He didn’t leave the generator, but quickly and quietly tried to explain the situation. Do the generators or you don’t get out alive. He said his name was Dwight, and the other person was Meg. More screams could be heard in the distance.
‘Are they okay?’ you asked.
‘It’s Nea,’ said Meg. ‘She’s distracting the Killer so we can work.’ A longer, louder scream was heard, and Meg sighed, sprinting off.
‘She’s been hooked,’ Dwight explained. ‘You don’t want to get hooked. If get hooked three times, you’re sacrificed to the Entity. You’ll always appear back at the campfire, though.’ You get on the generator with Dwight, unsure if you’re really helping. You touched two wires together and the generator exploded, making a loud sound. Dwight shushed you, telling you that it alerts the Killer. And he was right.
You got grabbed from behind and draped over someone’s shoulder. You started struggling right away, but his grasp was like iron.
‘Poor performance indeed,’ said the one carrying. The familiarity of their voice stunned you, making you fall still. He stopped, dropping you to the ground. You looked up at him, recognising your captain as the one staring down at you. He was no longer in his S.T.A.R.S. uniform, however. He was dressed from head to toe in black with a long coat.
‘Captain…?’ you asked tentatively. He looked down at you, shock briefly appearing on his features. He looked between you and the generator before running off. Dwight appeared and began healing you… until he was on the ground next to you. You heard your captain chuckle as he picked up Dwight.
‘Too bad you won’t get much further,’ Wesker said. You watched, helpless, as he forcefully threw Dwight onto a hook. He ran off again, leaving you on the ground. Meg appeared with who you assumed was Nea, helping you off the ground. You grabbed Dwight off the hook and ran for your life, unsure what Wesker wanted with you.
There was one generator left and only you and Nea were left, as Dwight and Meg had already been sacrificed. Nea screamed as Wesker yanked her off the generator. There was nothing you could do as she was on death hook, and a hook was extremely close to the generator. You got off the generator, crouching behind a rock in an attempt to avoid your captain. Nea screamed as she was sacrificed, and now Wesker was coming for you. He rounded the corner and swung, his knife connecting with your arm.
‘Where do you think you’re going? I’m not done with you yet!’ He lunged at you, missing. You vaulted through a window, Wesker still hot on your tail. ‘I just want us to talk.’ You felt tendrils wrap around your neck as he grabbed you and threw you, leaving you to fall to the ground. You looked up at him, seeing black tendrils wrapping around his left arm and he approached you. He picked you up and carried you into a building, dropping you on the floor. He picked you up again and let you wiggle free, giving you the fleeting feeling of potentially getting out. You looked back as you started running, realising that your captain was simply standing there, staring you down. He sat down in a chair, gesturing to another one near him. You quickly patched yourself up before joining him. There was silence for several moments.
‘What are you doing here, Captain?’ you asked, watching him.
‘I might ask the same of you, darling,’ he replied, his dark glasses hiding his eyes.
‘I’m not getting out of this alive, am I?’
‘Depends on if you can impress me. Report on your last mission. Formally.’ You immediately stood and faced him. You laid out how your last mission went, neither leaving anything out nor embellishing it. You knew by now that it was pointless. Wesker always knew when someone was lying or hiding something. He sat back, silent, after you finished your report. He stood after a few moments, his knife still in his hand. He approached you, the tendrils reappearing around his arm.
‘What… is that?’ you asked him. He smiled an evil grin you had never seen before on his features. He held his hand up toward you, the tendrils uncomfortably close to you.
‘This is Uroboros, my greatest creation.’ So it was true. Wesker was behind Uroboros after all. You could feel tendrils beginning to slither over your body. You never even realised you were infected. Wesker’s smile grew and you felt cold steel pierce through your stomach. He leaned down so his lips were next to your ear. ‘Run.’ He ripped his knife from your stomach, wiping it off with his glove as you ran. You could hear his footsteps behind you, fuelling your adrenaline. ‘Show me why you’re on the Alpha Team! Prove to me you deserve to live!’ You frantically ran through various jungle gyms, vaults, and even threw down a pallet, stunning Wesker for a moment as it connected with him. You heard a strange sound, running toward it. There was a kind of hatch on the ground and you heard Wesker’s footsteps slow as he came to a stop behind you. ‘Impressive. You’ve earned your freedom. This time. I’ll relish in sacrificing you the next time we meet. Maybe even give you special treatment and kill you with Uroboros.’ He grinned that wicked grin again, it burning into your mind as you escaped through the hatch.
