Raney from The Bad Batch

Raney was a Zygerrian male who was the leader of a group of Zygerrian slavers who operated on the planet Ord Mantell shortly after the formation of the Galactic Empire. Under the Empire, he hoped to return to Kadavo and rebuild the Zygerrians' slave operation that the former Galactic Republic had ended. Raney's group of slavers, residing in the ruins of Old Ord Mantell City, had captured several slaves, as well as Muchi, adolescent rancor that belonged to Jabba the Hutt. The Hutt placed a bounty on the rescue of Muchi, and the former clone troopers of Clone Force 99 were hired to rescue Muchi by the informant Cid. Though the slavers initially captured the troopers, the young clone Omega freed Muchi, allowing her comrades to escape. During the ensuing skirmish, the clone Hunter briefly fought Raney, incapacitating the Zygerrian.

Concept art was created for Raney by Jim Moore, dated August 6, 2019, and entitled "zygerrianRaneyAvA." Raney's appearance in the final version of the episode differs from the concept art, which depicts the Zygerrian as having a more rounded face, with taller ears and longer fur on his cheeks and chin. The art also pictures Raney with lighter brown and gray fur and lacks his blinded eye and scar.

Concept art makes him look more like a fox.

The Garden...

A system with many facets and identities, each with a role to play.

Lilium(Host): Hasn't been active for decades, since even before meeting the ghosts. A particularly impactful event could bring him back, but who knows what sort of being he would be?

Faceless: The liar, the trickster, the hero. An idealist who craves a better world, no matter what that world costs.

Mentzelia: The defender, the lion, the avenger. A regal and brutal woman who will do anything to protect her other facets.

Nameless: The lover, the sacrifice, the shield. None of Lilium loves the party like they do, but it insists on a distance.

Asphodel: The grieving, the widow, the spectre. An entity that possesses other facets instead of fronting alone.

Pyr: The rotting, the reaper, the parasite. A man unable to be contained to one form or state, contradictory and efficient.

Rosin: The prey, the obsessor, the victim. Rosin will allow those they love to mistreat it in any way, just to see them smile.

The Groundskeeper: Something built of the memories of their spectral Knight. But it can never live up to him.

Rat Kings: A collection of strange little men who know too much, and who are all too willing to use that knowledge.

Maggie/Miyako: A corvid-like inventor who refuses to be held back by her weaker superpower.
