I think the saddest and most egregious part of Trump's beef with Pope Leo is that he's splitting American Catholics from the Holy See either on purpose or accidentally fell into it and keeps going. He is a man who makes people fight, whether for him or rile up people who oppose him. So, it doesn't come as a surprise when Leo is actively criticizing the war in Iran and the treatment of migrants that Trump becomes vicious towards someone who is trying to be a peace-maker. Trump doesn't like peace-makers, or I suspect he doesn't. He doesn't like peace. Peace doesn't bring him and his billionaire friends money. He'd rather start wars to drive up gas prices so his friends who run the oil companies can rake in millions while the working class suffer at the pump, and more importantly, cause the deaths of thousands of civilians in Iran, who just wanted a leader who wasn't a religious fanatic who killed thousands of people who criticized or opposed him. And how did that go, Donnie? He pulled off the opposite of regime change. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's son, Mojtaba, is far more extreme, and now he's got more reasons to kill because thanks to America, he lost his father, wife, and children. Once again, showing that Trump is incapable of actually unifying people except to kill, destroy, and isolate us from another. The only people who unify and gravitate towards him are those who already have so much hatred in their hearts. They hate women, brown and black people, Muslims, Hindus, foreigners, etc. I had meant for this rant to be about Trump dividing American Catholics against each other, but the more I look into him, he is just a great divider in general. How can someone vote for a man like that, knowing he doesn't unify people for the prosperity of a country but only the ones who already want division and dominance over people they deem less than them? Of course, the answer is either pure, undiluted ignorance or you want someone who is a great divider of people.
A man that is an apostate, an unprofitable man, walketh with a perverse mouth.
He winketh with the eyes, presseth with the foot, speaketh with the finger.
With a wicked heart he deviseth evil, and at all times he soweth discord.
Six things there are, which the Lord hateth, and the seventh his soul detesteth:
Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,
A heart the deviseth wicked plots, feet that are swift to run into mischief,
A deceitful witness that uttereth lies, and him that soweth discord among brethren.
